Re: Gearbox Info
Hi Jan
Neither! You don't have an automatic gearbox on your 508. It is a 6 speed STT piloted manual gearbox and clutch system that has hydraulic actuators to do the gear changing and clutching operations for you. So it is a piloted 6 speed gearbox. So as there is no torque converter like an automatic, you won't need to change the fluid.
I've moved this out of the previous Automatic Gearbox thread to avoid confusion and into a separate topic.

Re: Gearbox Info
Thank you,
Please forgive me my ignorance, but does it still count as automatic? My wife is driving it and she has only automatic license.
Thanks,
Jan

Re: Gearbox Info
Hi Marc,
Sorry to be a pain, but could you pull up the part numbers from PSA system for anything that could be changed in that thing, please.
Personally I think that the clutch is slipping and needs to be changed. Well it has over 128k so it will def need my attention. Also where could I get some diagrams? Really want to learn more about it.
Thanks
Jan
Edit: I found one of your old posts : viewtopic.php?t=61384
that will give me more less direction.
Found the Clutch kit: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162450230772 ... 1438.l9372
Also on the video below they talking about secondary tank with oil. Is it the same as Servo? (just assuming because of how its translated from Russian.)
Edit: The actuator oil is PSA 9979.A4 - hard to get but here is Febi https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333916154632
I know the transmission oil should be 75W80 I will go with Total Gear 8 most likely.
Please advise.

Re: Gearbox Info
This is the clutch kit for your vehicle:
Part: 2052Z1 for Peugeot original price £424.33
Part: 2051Z2 for Peugeot Exchange Kit, price £235.01
All prices from Peugeot as of today.
I wouldn't touch anything to do with the hydraulic actuator system! The system is pressurised and must be depressurised to check and fill. This should not be necessary under normal operation. It also uses special hydraulic oil.

Re: Gearbox Info
Great, Thank you Marc
Just checked the Valeo Kit2p is the 2052-Z1 and its £130 in Autodoc. Well thats just a clutch plate and pressure plate.
Should I go for the whole thing with central slave cylinder, with clutch pressure plate, with clutch plate, with sensor?

Thank you ,
Jan

Re: Gearbox Info
Entirely up to you of course what you decide to change - but if doing this yourself, be aware that you'll need the tolling including the clutch centring tools - or it won't align properly. But more importantly, you need to consider the Dual Mass Flywheel! That really should be done at the same time as it will rarely outlast a second clutch. If this starts to fail through wear and breaks up, it will cause a lot of damage, as and can also account for 'slipping' similar to clutch slip.
