C4 Grand Picasso - VIN decode please!

Post by Caribbean-Pete »

I imported this car from Singapore to the Caribbean, without realising that there is zero service support locally.

A couple of months after arrival it wouldn't start. The local mechanic who specialises in European cars says it is the fuel pump. So now I am tasked with sourcing a fuel pump assembly. I want to make sure that I get the right one, so I saw on another post that there is a service here to make a donation and then the VIN can be referenced to show the correct year and model number.

Can someone point me in the right direction for that please?

Thanks

EDIT: I have made a donation. VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Hi Pete, I see nobody has picked up your request but that may be because of your chosen thread title. If you edit your first post and change the title to "Citroen C4 Grand Picasso part number needed" you should get a response. Good luck! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Hi

Ok, so just confirm the following is what you are after. Even with your VIN there are 2 types of petrol tank that can be fitted. This depends on the type of Euro Standard and Petrol. Regardless of tank design, they have a combined gauge and pump module in the tank, and the good news it that if it is just the pump you need, they are the same part regardless.

Carrib Fuel Pump B.PNG
Tank ATank B
So Item (2), the pump / gauge is part number: 9674871380 and the UK price inc. 20% VAT is £346.44. But at least you have the part number now.

1524RW was the original pump part for both tanks, but this has been replaced with the new part number I listed above (9674871380).

Thank you! Do you have any recommendations for companies that can ship the part worldwide?

Hi Pete

Citroen have dealerships in the Caribbean - specifically the Dominican Republic

https://www.citroen.com.do

and here is their international site so you can see of there is anywhere else more suitable:

Marc -

Thank you so much for your help. I can't find a place on either website to order just the part; plenty of choices to take the car in to a dealership, but unfortunately that isn't an option for me :)

If there was Citroen in the US I would order from there, but no luck there either.

I think my best option is to order from a parts shop in the UK or EU and have them ship it over to me. When I google search the part number (9674871380) a bunch of companies come up. https://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/ is the top hit and has two choices, FISPA and SIDAT, of which the FISPA is in stock. Is this a reputable brand? Price is quite a lot cheaper (£146,22) than the OEM you quoted. I would have it either shipped directly to me in Grenada or to a friend in the UK who could forward.

Unless you know a way to order directly from Citroen? (UK or otherwise) Thanks!

You'll need to contact the dealership and ask for the parts department (they should have a service department) - you can't order the parts directly from the website, so ask them about shipping and see what they say.

Parts on the second hand market vary significantly in quality, so that will account for a lot of the price differential. I can only provide you with official parts numbers of course. Watch out for used second hand parts though - it's a long way to have something delivered only for it to be faulty.

How about Peugeot dealers? They often carry Citroen parts as they are the same parts for Peugeots.

Yes, good point I forgot to mention Steve - they have the same parts access and same part numbers, so should easily be able to order that in if you have one of these nearer.
