DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
We have two DS7 eTense Ultra Prestige ( so 20” rims ), is anyone else with a similar vehicle experiencing severe rear tyre wear?
We found this article which seems to suggest vehicles with 19” rims are affected but nothing concrete.

Pictures of my tyres after after 9350 miles attached.
Posting this more really as a heads up to other eTense drivers as we are being supported by our DS Salon and the issue is being investigated.
Our other vehicle has done 4000 miles but is heading the same way, so the issue isn’t isolated to one vehicle.

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
Crickey! Those are bad and on 2 separate vehicles smacks of a fault in the suspension geometry or a bad batch of tyres if the same make and type. Incidentally what is the tyre brand and model and are they the same tyres on both vehicles?
I don't have a DS7, but the Bridgestone Turanza tyres on my Aircross are disintegrating on the outer edge - the rubber is forming cracks and starting on the rears too at 10K. I'm having them taken off and Michelins put on tomorrow. But nothing like the damage on yours - they look as if a boy racer has had the car at Silverstone for a week!

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
i only have a regular DS7 Prestige fitted with Continental tyres from new. I have done 18k miles and there must be at least 6mm left on the rears.
I also have a VW ID.3 all electric (RWD) and there has been a lot of chatter on the ID.3 boards about apparent short tyre life on the rear. This is being put down to three things.
1) Heavy right foot (instant power and goes like a rocket off the line compared to the DS7)
2) Overall high weight of the vehicle
3) Claims that the factory fitted tyres have lower starting tread depth than regular tyres.

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
Had my 2021 DS7 Opera e tense for 6 months and done just over 3300 miles, the rear tires had 6ml tread and now they are both 0.7 so completely illegal, the car is being collected tomorrow via flatbed tomorrow and taken back to the Dealership for investigation, they have said if they don't find anything I will have to pick up the cost however surely it isn't right to eat through nearly 5.5ml of tread in 3300 miles. My brother has a BMW M4 and drives it like he stole it, his head hurt when I told him how much tread my family wagon has eaten
. Surely there must be an underlying issue causing this wear, did you manager to get any answers?

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
problem with tracking on rear wheels. apparently you have to change settings close or 0 deg on rear suspension

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
From other forums I know that rear lower and upper arms are very weak (manufacturing problems or poor quality materials). Users saying that febi is doing aftermarket suspension parts f e FEBI 177101

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
Thanks I have heard of the above somewhere else, hoping when they finally collect the vehicle they can diagnose and cover the repair under warranty along with new rear tyres.

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
with your 20'' rims before adjusting tracking you have to check The reference height
According to DS 7 CROSSBACK (X74) - 38 - 18_12_2023 - Adjustment _ Setting the reference height .pdf
CAUTION
: Front and rear suspension geometry checks and front suspension geometry adjustment must be performed with the suspension accurately compressed to the reference height, in a suspension checking bay.

Re: DS7 eTense Tyre Wear
Ok did tracking on my ds today. Front O/s was out too much, front N/s was in too much))). Rear N/s angle 0° 0' 19''. Rear O/s angle 0° 0' 17''. They couldn't undo rear adjustment rods (induction heater didn't help) so garage left like it is. According to different Ds forums rear angle should be 0° 0' 2''. Well have to live with shaky rear suspension)))
