Citroen DS5 - DRL LED's not working

Post by djkasi »

I have a Citroen DS5 2013 and noticed that the DRL LED's are not working properly. The LED's are currently very dim, and the brightness is the same as if I'd turn the lights to a Parking mode. I remember that there should be a significant increase to the LED brightness when the lights are turned to Auto.

I read the fault codes and got some errors which indicates to a "short-circuit to positive or circuit open" in both of the daytime LED's. The codes are: B113D 15 and B113E 15. See the attachment.

I could'n find any info about specific fuses only for the LED's, nor did I find any schematics.

Short summary: The LED's work on the Parking mode, dimmed, as should. However, on Auto mode the LED's will be as dim as in the parking mode. No increase in brightness. I have D1S in lowbeam and H1 as highbeam if it matters.

Hi, from the looks of things, the faults for the DRLs can be any of the following:

The LED Unit itself
Electrical harness
Switch module at the steering wheel
BSI
Engine Fuse Box

Have you changed anything recently in diagbox (any configuration options)? Some settings may appear incorrect but are in fact correct for the specific model - just mentioning this as I've seen it happen a million times when someone changes an option and then finds things stop working properly.

If not, have you been doing anything near the BSI or the fusebox lately?

Pop your VIN up and I'll take a look at the wiring diagram if possible.

Thanks for your help. My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. I haven't been doing anything, just driving. The car had it's timing belt service (and other annual services) done recently, but I cannot tell if the DRL's were working before or after it.

This may not be much help but here's the diagram for you:

The 2 main DRL control wires are (2400A and 2405A) and as you can see these are routed directly to the engine fuse box. The are no fuses I can see for these.

2610 is the left headlamp
2615 is the right headlamp

ME10A and MC10A are the earths, which are shown below at the MC10 location - so you may want to check connections there in the plugs for water ingress.

I would hope it would have been picked up in the service if they were not working correctly??
