Hi all ,
I hope someone can help I have a c4gp 15 plate 120hdi
A while back I had espr , hill start assist , tyre monitoring system , abs faults all come on at once .
RAC diagnosed it with wheels speed sensor so had it replaced , codes still on , got a puncture and changed 2 front tyres in the last few weeks when weather was hot . After tyre pressure reset codes all went off for around 3 weeks 1000 miles as went away . Started raining today and all faukt codes back on , this is my first French car and I'm aware they can be prone to electrical.. can anyone help before I send it to main dealers to sting me ?
Or is this a main dealer issue, I've had 3 mechanics telling me different things so I'm lost is their a mobile mechanic with the citroen software ??
Thanks for taking the time to read and please help advise me if possible

Hi
The wheel sensor supplies the ABS and engine ECU with data which is used for a lot of the systems and probably why you had so many fault codes when one part of it goers wrong.
If the problem returns in the wet, I would suspect the wiring around the sensor - or certainly that cable. It may have been cut or damaged exposing a wire and may be prone to shorting causing the intermittent problems.

Hi ,
Thanks for your reply , I guess its a process of elimination! Could it be a wheel bearing , do they have sensors ?? Normal diagnostics machines won't pick it up they just show the same faults as the built in car one ? Would a alexia show up the problem ? I want to avoid main dealers but it seems that's my only option!

Hi Marc,
I had that replaced and didn't fix it was the RAC that said rear driver wheel speed sensor do you think it's worth doing the front ??

Re: Espr and many other faults in rain
Not unless you have had that confirmed with a proper diagnostic session. This will determine whether a sensor is at fault and which one. No sense in wasting money replacing parts unnecessarily.
You may be better off getting the dealer to sort it than going from garage to garage that don't know what the issue is and are guessing.
