Citroen saxo ignition barrel

Post by Jonathancilia »

Hey, my citroen saxo has ignition key sticking issues lately, i tried to clean it and lubricate it but after abit problem comes back... now i want to replace it with a brand new one, my car is a 1.5D it has immobilizer with bosch pump but it has no ECU

If i swap the ignition barrel, and i keep the same immobilizer ring around the ignition and swap the chip from the key i have to the new one.. will i be ok ?

The transponder coil around the ignition does nothing except energise the chip in the key or the fob and sends the signal to the Control Module. The Control module is a separate unit.
So replacing the ignition barrel should be straight forward.
