It's not the sensor, it's "CRANKSHAFT PICKUP SENSOR RING 0515T7" the one under the crankshaft pulley you will have to remove the pulley to get to it. And because I wanted to fix it last weekend but euro car parts and gsf car parts doesn't have it I started looking for the second hand one but every single one was sold. So I bet they go bad very often.

They will if you get it from ECP! They do have a poor reputation here amongst myself and other members for dead parts, parts broken, not working that have caused wasted time on tracking non-existent faults when it was faulty parts.

Was your ring mechanically damaged? It should just be a ferromagnetic passive ring, can't understand what could fail if not damaged (broken tooth...)?

My 407 has done this since I had it. I put it down the auto box. Then it's started doing it on very light revs. I've unplugged the MAF (which throws the light on after a couple of starts but no limp mode) it's not done it since. Just need to give the MAF a clean now.

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone
