There's no distinction - If Powerflex is what you need that will be it. The number just refers to the 'generation' of particle filter, from the earliest ones from 2000 up to the latest ones fitted now. Ignore those as you will have one of the later filters. Eolys Additives have evolved with the filters.

Hi, hoping this thread is still active. I'm getting the 'fuel additive to low' error. My garage tells me there are 3 types of additive tank, pouch, refillable, and mine which is not refillable and they have to order one at £370. Can anyone tell me if this could be true, as I've seen no mention of this on the forum? My VIN is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Thanks you

For your build date (RPO 12422) you need Powerflex Additive and you have a hard tank reservoir, not a pouch system.

As your 'garage' obviously haven't got a clue what additive type you have, I'd run a mile.

You can pick up 3 litres of genuine Powerflex additive with filling kit here for £86 inc. postage:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234591182901 ... SwcediqzxD

You can do this yourself as it's gravity fed, but you will need to have the engine ECU additive counter reset, which requires proper diagnostic software to do, otherwise the engine ECU won't know it has been topped up (as the tank is not physically measured for additive level).

So I would get the additive myself and then look for somebody with Diagbox or a garage that will just do the reset for you, but £370 - you are being ripped off.

Here's a general video on how it's filled (will be similar to your car - this is just the process).

Just bought the Powerflex. I have Diagbox, bought to vin code a replacement radio, and I've seen the tank refill and pump prime in the maintenance section. Thanks for your advice, I don't know much about cars but I hadn't seen anything on the forum about fitting new tanks when they run out, felt wrong. Thanks again ;)

Marc, received the Powerflex but had no time until today, refilled the tank (easier than I thought it would be), took about 2 litres of the 3, used Diagbox to prime the pump, cleared the faults, and alls well. I'm 62 years old, and all I know about cars is what I've read on this forum, you've saved me around £500, and taught me to be more careful about who I take my cars to. Many thanks.

Hi there 'GiveMeABreak' - would this be the same proceedure for the C8 Mk2 2.2HDi? I was told that the Mk2 used the pouch/bag instead of the bottle/tank fill approach.

Thanks.
GiveMeABreak wrote: 03 Nov 2018, 09:06 Ok, so I've just rechecked everything for you and your 207 actually uses the flexible pouches and NOT a tank itself. The flexible pouch is contained in a rigid casing. Extreme caution is recommend when removing and fitting these pouches, as you a) don't want to get any of the liquid on your skin, nor split the new pouch on insertion.

So the good thing with a pouch is you don't need the hassle of filling it through a gravity drip.

The Additive Pouch Housing is shown here.
16 & 17 are the shell casing parts and 15 is the Additive Pouch
The part number from Peugeot for the 3L pouch is 9678033680. They charge £182.38 for the pouch inc. VAT, so not much difference in it.

Now to be honest, there are genuine Citroen / Peugeot pouches on ebay - one new one here for about £163...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Genuine-CITROE ... 426&chn=ps

...which would save a few quid - but be cautious of buying some that have been recovered from a salvaged vehicle! - If they say "used", ignore them. You don't know how much is left in the pouch and of course that can cause the ECU to think there is more in the tank than there actually is, as it is expecting 3L to be replaced.

Here's the procedure
  • Where protective gloves.
  • You will need to raise the rear left of the vehicle too gain access.

Be wary of fluid running back from the pipes when disconnected (Suggest covering with a small plastic bag and a rubber band).
Disconnect the connector ( as "a").
Uncouple the pipe (4).
Release the fixings (2) by a quarter turn; By means of a screwdriver .
Slightly move aside: The heat shield (1).
Remove: The lower housing (3) with the flexible reservoir .
Detach the flexible reservoir (6) from the lower housing (3).
Uncouple and close the pipe (5).
CAUTION: The flexible reservoir (6) must not protrude sideways from the lower housing (3) : Risk of damage (On reassembly) .

Refitting
  • Refit: The lower housing (3).
  • Turn the fasteners (2) a quarter turn.
  • Connect the connector ( as "a").
  • Connect the pipe (4).
  • Reset the additive counter to zero
  • Perform the actuator test "refilling the pipe: additive pump - additive injector"; Using a diagnostic tool.

I'll need your VIN (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff) in order to advise on the system you have. It's based on Model, engine type and build date as to the system you have.

I think the RPO no. is 50203 (the number on the sticker reads 502031-3) but I might be reading it incorrectly.

If it was 50203, then you'd be a visitor from the future as that would be 21 April 2114! :rofl2:

Your RPO is 11537 (10th June 2008) and your C8 has a reservoir system, as they all do on C8s - no pouches.

In case your next question was what type of additive, then it's Eolys 176.

:rofl2: Good point there on the RPO!

Thanks very much - I was hoping it was a pouch. :( Filling with the fluid is more tricky given my experience with my mk1!

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
