As part of my epic weekend if misfortune with the car, it appears that either the small bonnet release cable snapped or was cut.
I am still able to unlock the bonnet from the inside of the car but the under bonnet cable is knackered.
I have ordered a replacement from eBay, but I could really do with the instructions on how to take the trim off.
Is anyone able to help?
Thanks

Re: 807 bonnet release
So I'm assuming you have part (16) - which is a blessing as it would be difficult if you had the internal initial release cable go (13) as the whole fascia has to come off to get to that!
When mine went on my C5, it was a matter of just identifying where the old one was clipped onto and taking a few pictures of the routing, before replacing it.
This is the relevant part of the procedure - the other is for the larger cable.

Remove:
- The clips (1 )
- The upper baffle of the grille (2)
- Unclip the cable from its housing.

Yes thank God it was the small cable and not the massive one!GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑31 May 2021, 17:45 So I'm assuming you have part (16) - which is a blessing as it would be difficult if you had the internal initial release cable go (13) as the whole fascia has to come off to get to that!

Yeah she is costing some money at the moment but she hasn't been looked after. Hopefully it will calm down soon

Re: 807 bonnet release
Just a quickie to say thanks to Marc - all done and fixed, how ever when installing the new part I used the original handle for the bonnet release as the OEM one was of poor quality and would break.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑31 May 2021, 17:45 So I'm assuming you have part (16) - which is a blessing as it would be difficult if you had the internal initial release cable go (13) as the whole fascia has to come off to get to that!

Re: 807 bonnet release
Great, thanks for the update. Unfortunately it's a sign of the times re quality - brittle plastics - cold weather is fatal for these and of course place of manufacture - say no more....
