Re: Picture(s) of the day....
This is part Picture's of the Day and part Spot the Electric Car. Just back from a short break (17 months since we got the voucher and 7 months since it expired!). A big thankyou to ITISON and The Arrochar Hotel. The small sunken boat on the foreshore wasn't covered in so many mussels the last time we were there and the last ferry to dock at the jetty has long since sailed! We had beautiful weather and enjoyed our wee break. The shot of the empty bay was after a hire car load of tourists tried to hook up their MG EV and left uncharged. I didn't have the heart to photograph them and wasn't getting involved with the pile of spaghetti they were puzzling over.

Someone has done it in a flooded underpass and "bro! he made it!" as the commentary concluded.mickthemaverick wrote: 20 May 2021, 17:36 Just need to know if it would work in a deeper ford? Anyone? ..........![]()

Its nice to give and receive a little kindness, and to say thank you.
So a huge thank you to my neighbour for allowing me to borrow a large sheet of plastic covering.

Excessive groan emitted!! I mentally translated it to 'thankyou neighbour' the first time I read it!! Now I know what the fish feels like after he's bitten the bait

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
One for Ornithology Club or possibly meaning of life club....
This time of year lots of young birds fledging and turning up in odd places. The overwhelming message from RSPB etc is just leave them alone.
So I came across the little Coal Tit youngster, obviously a coal tit so reasonably well feathered, but tiny and vulnerable and bedraggled in the rain, hunched down in the middle of a roughly-tarmaced steep access road with potholes and gashes in the surface. It probably fledged from a nest in the nearby wall, and plonked down on the road.
I knew there was nothing I could do, that nature would take its course, and its chances of surviving the day were pretty remote. So I thought I would get the camera out. I am giving the little chap five minutes of fame on the FCF as a tribute to the millions of years of chicken and egg which had brought it into our world and this morning's encounter with yours truly. With due respect I will put the photo in the spoiler...

Time for another celebratory car for my last 100 contributions. I had to look round a lot to avoid posting an american muscle car but I found this little monster:

There was, apparently, someone who had a friend called Henry – eccentric because he used to spell his name Hen3ry.
He explained that the 3 was silent, and therefore not a problem.

Saw one of these this morning beautifully posed not flitting about but I rely on borrowed cameras seeing as mine is out of action so I'm sure "UK Butterflies Building a Community of Responsible Butterfly Enthusiasts in Britain & Ireland"
won't mind me nicking one of their images.
