In desperation I removed the sphere which released a small amount of LHM+ fluid but nothing to suggest there was any pressure left in the system BUT shortly after I thought I saw the nut drop down to the unit, it had released itself with hardly any effort from a solid grip like some sort of gravity Ninja
So somewhere / somehow / something was affected which altered the struts attitude ... vacumn
No corrosion on strut

Just got the original fault to replace now and buy some more LHM+ and we should be back on the road .....
