C5 X7 power steering pipes
Hi guys. I'm in desperate search for both of the pipes.
I was hoping someone may know what part numbers I need to hopefully cross reference them with other psa/aftermarket pipes.
I've contacted every car breaker on ebay, I've tried my local breakers.
The garage has contacted citroen with no joy for them and it's getting frustrating searching all hours and getting no where with this part.
Also does anyone know if a c4 would be compatible or even a Peugeot 508.
Thanks for the help

Re: C5 X7 power steering pipes
We need your VIN as you have not put your model, year or specification in your profile, so you are not going to get much help.
No, they are unique I'm afraid - these X7 pipes are unique to the X7, but I will double check once you have supplied the VIN so I know exactly what system you have as there are multiple pipes.

I'll need the VINs (they will be automatically hidden when you post - so only staff can see them).

Re: C5 X7 power steering pipes
There have to be companies out there capable of making rigid or semi rigid PS pipes. The only critical part of the pipes are the ends as these have to be correctly swaged to the right shape and size. There must be suppliers to the specialist classic car restorers who have the ability to make these pipes. Anyone know of any ?

I imagine that Pirtek would be capable.

If they want to sell the parts, It would be in their interest to supply VIN number

Re: C5 X7 power steering pipes
Hi
Ok, no worries.
I have checked and the Donor vehicle, which is a 2.0 HDi DW10BTED4 and the pipes are different with different part numbers to your 1.6 HDi 110.
There is a physical difference in both shape and the connections it seems, so sorry to disappoint you.

Re: C5 X7 power steering pipes
Hi Marc.
Thanks for the reply I suppose it has to be a 1.6hdi I need as a donor then as I assume its because mine doesn't have hydroactive suspension so the pipes are different in that aspect.

Re: C5 X7 power steering pipes
Actually, no, as both cars are non-hydractive and have Metal Suspension.
The actual steering racks are different. The donor car has a 180 rack travel and yours has a 184, plus the PS pumps are different, so it is not down to the suspension. I hope that clarifies some differences for you.

Re: C5 X7 power steering pipes
Correct the VIN identifies it as a 2.0 HDI with Metallic suspension, an early 2008 model.
