Re: Wheel meet again!!
Those Saab wheels have some passing resemblance to simplified Activa wheels
The car looks good in red... I really must try a Saab one day to see what all the fuss is about... I never have, they have totally passed me by but many say they're almost as good as a Citroen

So now I'm the proud owner of two very different sets of 5 spoke alloys
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Wheel meet again!!
I dont know how I missed this thread, I love wheels and tyres and usually change wheels on my cars. Heres my own 205 auto on 14" GTI pepperpots.
And heres where my love of non standard wheels started, a set of mk1 cavalier rostyles with 175/70x13 wheels on my mk1 Astra 1.3gl instead of its 155x13

Re: Wheel meet again!!
Caught my eye if nothing else. Not sure if the orange is a wheel thing (probably) or a tyre thing. Bit of a conspicuous location for a bit of suspicious camera work so not exactly a close up.
You see plenty white wall tyres, I've seen the odd red possibly on TV on one of the car resto shows, might even have been one with that Drew Pritchard bloke, where they hand painted the red line on the tyre wall.
Same with the typical alloys....are ones with colour other than grey silver or black maybe white ever spotted.
I think I am suitably pre-primed to notice now. So if anyone spots an example of a wheel/tyre which has a colour other than white grey silver or black post them up. I guess if anyone spots one of those blue subaru souped up things, gold maybe the variation most likely to be spotted first.
Regards Neil

I bought one of those VW fastbacks, it hung around for nearly eighteen months before I could find a buyer, not at all popular among the Beetle fans.

Re: Wheel meet again!!
Not an SUV its got that in its favour, but really quite an unexceptional looking Alfa Romeo, and an unexceptional colour.
Stellantis need to dig up some of Alfa's old designs, or come up with new ones.

Re: Wheel meet again!!
Have you ever owned an Alfa Neil? they're lovely to drive and if it wasn't for the rust they'd be my ideal cars.
One of my daughter's RAF colleagues bought a Sud in Berlin and every outer panel had been replaced before it was eighteen months old.
I ran a GTV 2000 for about 10 months and loved it but it too was falling apart at the seams.

No I'm afraid not Gibbo but I always liked the look of these. This one's up for sale at Brightwells £17,000 to £19,000, bit steep for my bargain basement mentality nowGibbo2286 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 09:28 Have you ever owned an Alfa Neil? they're lovely to drive and if it wasn't for the rust they'd be my ideal cars.

This is what I had Neil but it doesn't show the disgusting rust bubbles. https://www.shannons.com.au/library/im ... coupe.jpg

Mine was similar but not quite as bright, more of a beige.

Re: Wheel meet again!!
and the pre-priming works. Spotted a Suzuki (car), with red highlighted wheels, but no camera to hand.NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑19 Apr 2021, 11:54 I think I am suitably pre-primed to notice now. They are a rare thing the non-white/black/silver/grey wheel/tyre so FCF wheel spotters and shutter club...keep 'em peeled and shutter fingers poised.

Re: Wheel meet again!!
and the pre-priming for the not silver/not grey/not black/not white wheel/tyre did come up with another today. The spotting high point is one that comes out of the showroom with the coloured wheels, with slightly beneath that the custom job. I sort of think the Suzuki with the red wheels, may have been a special edition manufacturers job, but the blue car, (I think it was a MR2) with blue wheels may well have been a custom job.
No pics.
