In the flesh, in the sun, top down, against the grey silver black and white of the identikit SUV's Its a stand out, rare and interesting car, and I definitely award myself 50 points for an unusual spot.

I am sure it looks much better out of that video!! However if spotting one of 3000 is worth 50 points how much is a picture of a limited edition of 333 cars worth? :-D

Rarity value gets the standard 50, and I'll give it another 50 because you would have difficulty spotting it as it is cloaked in brilliant anonymous black :-D

Following a tip from John on the TV thread I had a look at the video he referred to, to see if I could spot the mistake John mentioned, have a look for yourself:

Not being very conversant with the CX I may well have missed an error there but one thing which I know was incorrect was:
Spoiler: show
He said by pressing the brake pedal, the pressure in the system was converted to kinetic energy!! Wrong, the pressure within the system is a form of potential energy which is dispersed into mechanical energy to operate the calipers and results in converting some of the car's kinetic energy into heat energy, and possibly some light energy, by the friction action of the brake pads. Kinetic energy is the energy contained in a moving body as a result of its momentum, and could be described as another form of potential energy in that it has the ability to do work. (ie damage something it hits :-D )

This video is episode 96 of a tremendous yacht renovation series that I have been following since last year's lockdown when I found it. If you are interested in boats have a look at the entire series but if so it is worth seeing episode 1 first to set the scene. However this particular episode which was released yesterday covers the caulking of the boat which I had never seen done professionally before and I found it fascinating: :)

Is this hull a double skinned carvel on diagonal planks. I have not seen this video but my trivia/experience suggests it is. Correct?

I don't know what a carvel is, but this boat is single skinned on hardwood frames which I always knew as ribs before I saw this :-D

Edit: I looked it up and now I can confirm that it is carvel planked but only single skin straight onto the frames. :)
