Yes, you should be fine in that case - ED only sell proper kits, so that rules that out. It may be worth a try with a lower version, but you may have to manually downgrade the firmware version I suspect, as the later version will have installed a later firmware on. It has been known to fix some issues.

However, make sure you are supplying the correct data when you first connect up.

When you connect up, make sure you choose the first model - 'C5' and not C5 II and the correct RPO which is 09467 for your C5. This ensures the correct data is used and the correct engine ECU. I've known people to input the wrong RPO or select the wrong model and have these issues.

Hmm i typed 9467 and not 09467 would that make any difference?
But this Only happens when deleting faults under "injection"

It shouldn't make a difference in reality as the leading 0 is dropped - but it may well make a difference using the software if it expects 5 digits. It can't hurt to try.

Tried again using Diagbox 7.57 and 09467 as rpo still get the communication error after it starts erasing the faults. also this pops up in diagbox asking for some sort of authentication

The 2 installations can't co-exist as far as I can see. You can have DB 7.** or DB 9.** but not both together.

i have 7.57 on a seperate win 7 32 bit virtual machine

Ok, so the 7.57 screenshot only usually only appears when using Diagbox (which should not be the case for your C5 of this year) and you are trying to use a function requiring PSA tech log in. You shouldn't even be getting this far - as when you launch DB, and select the model, it should offer you SCANTOOL or LEXIA - which you then choose LEXIA, let it pick up the VIN and enter the RPO.

so a little update, after replacing the 02 sensor for the third time in March last year with a high-quality bosch sensor, the engine has been running almost flawlessly. had a couple of fault codes on the 02 sensor which has vanished on their own, also had the engine hesitate a little a few times but nothing nearly as bad as what it used to be.
still have no clue what caused the engine trouble or two 02 sensors to go bad, I'm just glad I don't have to deal with the problem any more

There is a lot of truth in the saying 'buy cheap, buy twice'. It's very hit and miss with cheaper or non-branded sensors, but generally fitting good quality branded or OEM sensors can save a lot of headache and expense / wasted time. Thanks for the udpate.
