Sorry Paul, obviously I did read an old label on your page.
I live in South Liverpool and I wouldn't trust the car to get me to the top of the road, breaking down in the Tunnel would finish me off.

Lol, that description is from about ten years ago with my original Lexia. Nowadays I have a full chip Actia and run Diagbox 7.58.

No problem and absolutely no offence taken.

I guess Otterspool, Speke or in that direction. I could possibly come over in my car. What times are you available?

Ta! Doesn't mean I'm not still learning though! I helped a forum member last weekend and managed to sort out his problem without knowing how I did it! :rofl2:

High Paul_R just spotted the messages that I thought didn't Register.
I live in Allerton and retired so free most days, it would be a relief if you can can get me out of this hole I'm in.
What sort of cost would there be because nothing is free.

I went over this afternoon with my Diagbox . First thing I noticed was that the service indicator was showing something like 40,000 miles past the due mileage! I confirmed with BKS that servicing has been done and it's just resetting that hadn't been. I showed him what to do in the future and then zeroed the counter.

I did a global read and then cleared the faults. Some didn't disappear. These are what I hope are the important screens.

The C98A and C98B were simple, the sidelamp bulbs had blown. I only had LED replacements which illuminate but still flag as errors. I couldn't see anything in particular wrong with the readings after that.

I confirmed that the DPF had been taken off the car and cleaned with specialist cleaner and then flushed through. I came across a menu which seemed to offer a zeroing for a new DPF and clicked on it. It seemed to go through but I was expecting a bit more information for the process.

We took the car out for a test run. It seemed to be much better but it wasn't too long until there was a beep and an error flashed up on the speedo. The engine died completely and we came to a halt by the side of the road.

It was only a matter of waiting a moment before starting the engine. Curiously there was no Limp mode, the engine just stopped.

Back at the house I went into some more menus to read parameters.

The car has covered 116593 miles and BKS has had the car since about 80,000 miles. The DPF was cleaned (I think) only a few hundred miles ago. It seems highly likely to me that the Eolys has never been refilled I don't know what type of Eolys or system is on the car but I guess that the pump is probably knackered from trying to pump air.

Would this Eolys problem also cause the engine to die? Or is it possible hat there's a second problem (air ingress into the fuel line?) that needs fixing. The fuel pressurising bulb wasn't rock hard as I believe it should be. You could squish the bulb by hand and it felt like it was doing something.

Some other information if needed:

Did you scan for faults again after you came back? DPF faults won't cause an engine shut off - the one causing that will be the low fuel pressure I would imagine. I would change the fuel filter first off, as these are sensitive to it. If it still does it, then more digging required, but it might be pointing to a problem with the HP pump....

The scans after the photo of the speedo are from when we got back.

Which is why I think there may be two problems. The first with the Eolys and additive pump . And the second, something to do with fuel supply in some way.

Anyone?

Replacement of Eolys pump?
Is the pump fused?
Type of Eolys and whether pouch or refill?

Looking for hole in fuel pipe allowing air in?
Testing of HP pump and how to replace?

0093Lighting aside which you have fixed, both these fault codes P0087 and P0093 have one thing in common - in so far as the suspect areas are concerned and that is the engine fuse box. Before replacing anything to do with the fuel system, I would suggest replacing the engine fuse box.

These engine suffered with bad batches of the fuse boxes on other PSA vehicles with the same engine - and I know that there have been at least 3 changes of engine fusebox parts (for this build date - part 6500 FQ, then all were superseded with 9675877980, then currently the latest part is 9807028580)!

In fact, a member has just posted about this on his 59 plate C3 probably with the 1.6 110 engine and had other anti-pollution faults (slightly different - but fuel pressure related) and I've seen members going down the road of changing fuel pressure sensors and the common rail to no avail.

So if it was me, I would be looking at replacing the fusebox as given the lighting errors too, it just smacks of a failing box. So it's going to be one of those things where everything is pointing to the fuel pressure / regulation, but may be a red herring.

Marc and Paul

Thanks for your help and tips.

I agree there are two separate problems the Eolys pump and the fuse box.

The warning that say's the depollution filter blockage may occur when the ignition is switched on, to me, says the ECU has picked up the Eolys system isn't working

The secondary fault 'Depollution System Faulty' I agree says the Fuse box is faulty, because it shuts down the engine so quickly, almost like the power has shut off and as there is no record created, it must be a power loss. As this stops the car working I will have to sort this out first.

The fact the diesel bleed bulb cannot be pumped to solid is a bit of a worry though.
