My last two posts and Neil's are from the catalogue of a very mixed auction. There is a really wide variety of vehicles in the sale and in my opinion worth a general browse. Nearly everybody will find a car they like among them: :)

The P6 is interesting*, Neil, but Oh, Dear! Fancy lavishing all that care, and money on the bodywork, and a (part) stainless exhaust (oddly, the bit which does rust - the tail-box - has been left in mild steel!?), but - when you look at the underside photos, what were the owners thinking? Not a whisker of protective wax to be seen, and rust already with a foothold on sills, outriggers, brake plates and training arms. I despair. Some folks never learn.

* My first was a 1966 2000, manual, single carb, same Zircon blue, but with cream leather interior. Bought for the princely sum of £300 from one of our school cleaners, it eventually got fitted with a BW35 auto 'box, and became even more leisurely. A '72 2000TC was much more fun, but not a touch on the 3500S.

The Renault is at Classic Car Auctions.

Interesting list as you say for SWVA, and a couple of very nice 1961 Triumph Bonneville's at the end. I'll have to check back but the purple Austin 3 Litre seems to be a familiar face.

Triumph did a very nice petrol tank!

The Merc and The Jag....those models, cars nobody wants and a lot of car for not much money
The Time Warp delivery mileage Peugeot...Not a great investment for the last couple of buyers, a regular sale appearer, The Ford Prefect....lovely, head tuner, great condition escaped out of the bargain category but still nice for the price, TR7....getting better with age but still affordable, MG Maestro not sold. Ford Capri, enough people who had them recreating their youth, and been well out of the bargain category for a while. SAAB better faster and surprisingly unloved. P6 Rovers you can still get a fairly decent one under £5,000, and unless they are totally exceptional haven't gone too far out of our thread guideline . Full results link on previous post.

Came across this French this blog De Sortie Grange. Couple of interesting articles including one on fuel for old cars,
but in another this was the authors choice of...

Some nice big Austins / Wolseleys in that auction Mick, ten years ago I'd have been a buyer but at my age I don't need any more 'fun' . :)

The finest German engineering from the year 2000 sells for £1,500 hammer price (Mercedes S500). Serbian made Fiat 600 copy sells for £1,700. (Zastava 750). How the mighty depreciate like a stone, and the extremely ordinary has its day in the sun.
