Hi all,
The speakers in my S1 Xantia died quite some time ago.
I did wonder if they could be easily re-coned? Has anyone ever tried that?
Other than that, I am going to look for some replacements.
I did buy some JVC on Amazon which arrived yesterday and despite being described at 15.2 x 15.2 (6"), they nowhere fit the front doors. May use them in the back.
I've been looking at some Sony but they are £45. If I bought the set for front and rear, ie £75, it would be worth more than the car...
What experiences have you had?
PS Battery drained overnight. I think the positive and negative speaker cables were touching each other. Battery now on charge.

Try looking at the Pyle Audio website, in particular their PDMW5 (5"). Now have these in the BX.
There's also a PDMW6 (6"), which I have in the XM.
The Pyle site has full drawings and dimensions, and the units are available on Amazon.
Just an idea.

Pretty much every standard 6,5" speaker should fit on front doors of Xantia. I even had these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Monacor-Predat ... B000K78CC6 on my Xantia, just had to cut speaker frame a bit because those are non-standard 6,5" speakers with larger diameter frame.
I think rear speakers are 5 1/4" size, so 6,5" speakers won´t fit there.

PM me some details and I’ll get payment across for the postage.
I am, of course, assuming they fit straight into an S1.
I ought to check my own spares boxes but they are a nightmare to get to at present.

Screw holes across diameter are 155mm apart (6 1/8”). They are 165mm overall to the extreme diameter and 60mm deep. That’s all I can tell you.
I ‘think’ the rears are 135mm. I say think because I offered up the new ones I’d bought that were supposed to be 6” and they look about right.
