Love these old films . Saw something about the "Turntable" ferries up on the West of Scotland on another programme

Look at life's effort

Cuthbertson had a similar idea about 70 years ago. They fitted out quite a few Land Rovers with this.

Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

On various threads around the forum at the moment a number of problems from xenon lights to updating ecu's for routine maintenance are being discussed and so I decided to find out whose fault it is. I have the answer but the best way to put it forward is with this video:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Shame to leave this languishing unwatched in the archives of POTD.

Its a film in glorious colour about the journey of a large bit of equipment to a hydro electric installation in North Wales by road and especially Rail from LLandudno Junction to Blaenau FFestiniog. Worth a nostalgic 12 minutes 21 seconds watch, better than "Come Dine with Me" et cetera on the TV.

Some BL Heritage films on the Development of the Marina.
I thought it would go on for an hour at least but all done and dusted in 15 Minutes.....

Interesting watch there Neil, I had always seen the Marina as BL's competitor for the Cortina, Viva, and Avenger and I have never realised that the coupe was aimed as a Capri competitor - no wonder it failed!! :-D

I did chuckle a bit at that chart they put up showing the "gap in the market" , and when they said they would have to come up with "a style that was better than the Capri".

Well I took your advice Neil and stuck it through both brochures, and to be fair I did learn a few extra titbits to file away in my car recognition brain cells but I have to say the guy is seriously odd. To even compare it to a Mk2 Escort let alone prefer it, he must have missed his techno appreciation induction course. :-D
Not to mention the rather irritatingly poor placement of his lighting source which throws a reflective circle on proceedings the whole time! Still Marina day ends in another 40 mins so my suffering is over!! :-D

Most of us on here are aware that a C5 X7 was the factory coding for the second generation C5, which followed the facelifted Mk1 and was the subject of the road test in the video I posted before this one, but how many of us know what the X40 was?

Here is your chance to find out:
