C5 X7 2.2 HDI 173 - rear engine mount/driver shaft mount - part code

Post by nos4feratu »

Hi everybody, bumps again for my beloved C5.

I have a annoying bang everytime I start the engine like is loose from its mounts. took her to my trustee garage for an investigation and they're found one of the brackets which is linking the engine with the chassis cracked, the one which is holding the drive shaft (I'm not sure about the side or how many they are, one or two). the engine mount inside the engine bay, the one on driver side is worn as well.

Is it possible to have the part codes for these mounts? VIN code: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

any help will be much appreciated.

thank you Marc for your instant reply, I passed the schematic to my mechanic for confirmation, as far as he described (I wasn't there at the time of investigation) I think is about number 5 and 42.

later edit: mechanic confirmed my assumption, definitely 5 and 42. If 42 is not coming with the rubber I might need number 44 as well.

just found one but t's labelled 1807HC instead of 1807FJ. is it possible to be an alternative? thank you for all your help.

later edit: no need for that anymore, I actually got one picture of each and there is a major discrepancy, shape wise, regardless the facts is been used on C5 and code being almost identical.

These are all different and specific to the engine type and that other part is not listed for this engine, so no.

I’d just point out that item 5 is the TOP.engine mount, or anti torque link - not sure whether you need that as well as the bottom mount (or torque reaction mount).

Also I’m as sure as I can be that the bracket will NOT come with the rubber mount.

I have a very similar arrangement on my C8 2.2 HDi 173 hp.

Cheers

thanks Julian for your reply, I'm in the process of finding one, no luck so far with the car breakers, probably tomorrow I'll pay a visit to Citroen garage.

okay, so quick update on my issue; found the engine mount for a fair price in Spain (btw, I had to pay £9.95 tax for a second hand 49 EUR piece of engineered cast iron; thank you brexit, far too kind) as Citroen is deliberately mistaken cast iron with gold, judging by the price they're charging for a new one; replaced it with no improvement. Also replaced the anti torque link and the engine holder on the right hand side just to find very little improvement.

So the banging on starting the engine remain and is present when changing gears at high revs 1st to 2nd. I start investigating further and discovered there is another fancy 2 in 1 bracket and anti torque link in top of the gearbox but is ridiculously expensive and I really don't want to replace it just to find that's not the key on solving the issue. Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

Also, I have another odd thing, changing gears 3rd to 4th or 5th to 4th is making a grinding noise IF is done at more than 2000 rot/min. under this value nothing can be heard. is that related with the banging noise or just a dodgy dogbox?

Finally I solved the bang issue. It seems I replaced for no reason all the brackets and supports as now I'm not sure if the story with the cracked bracket is true anymore. So I went to a mate I know and beg for access with him under the car and look for issues. It appears the exhaust pipe has been repaired by a cowboy which wasn't able to weld back the right dimension, both length and diameter, of the elastic element. So every time I start the engine, whole exhaust pipe is moving back and forward banging into the brackets which are holding the DPF. problem solved temporarily by fitting a piece of rubber in between the brackets. Thank you all for support and suggestions.
