My main memory of them was Superintendant Lockhart using one in No Hiding Place!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Classic for under £10K
Informative video Peter enjoyed that. Lovely looking example of the Humber Hawk but you can see why the likes of the Rover P6 , even the Triumph 2000 were more appealing, and the offerings from Ford in the early/mid 60's were far more modern in comparison.
A Humber Super Snipe appeared on the Avengers episode I watched the other day.

Re: Classic for under £10K
My Uncle Fred had a Humber estate car decades ago. When it 'died' (mid 70s') it ended up on an Army firing range (Fred was in the Army), where it finally succumbed to an armour piercing shell into the engine bay.

That's them Neil. the modern Humber was a delight to drive but I only had the occasional go, my regular truck was a Bedford RL stores box van.

A good candidate to complete my AX, BX, CX and ZX set Mick Although it would be better if it was a white one My dream garage set of 'X' Citroens would all be whitemickthemaverick wrote: ↑19 Jan 2021, 13:13 I just spotted this on ebay if it takes anyone's fancy:

These were always the Cinderella and totally overshadowed by the 'Valver' BX 16v GTi... A shame really....

Re: Classic for under £10K
I had the 16V which still ties with my Lancia Delta HF Turbo as the best car I have owned (for my likes of course!) and that is what I was looking for when I came across this 8V. I'm sure a few cans of white paint, a new garage, and the white ZX I found are all within reach Jim! Just need to find a white CX!!

Re: Classic for under £10K
The BX 16V is magical Mick Such a shame so many were slaughtered, along with the Pug 405 Mi16, to create the Pug 205 GTi Mi16
Back in the day when I ran a (standard 1.6) 205 GTi and attended the 2005 French Car Show I found I was very unwelcome on the BX GTi stand such was the displeasure they felt toward 205 GTi owners at the time...
I did not understand then but I do now...
Looking forward to seeing the white CX I know you'll find for me Mick
I then need to get that five car garage with basic living accommodation attached all sorted out... I need five garage spaces as it would be unfair to leave Sally out in the cold...

I think you need 6 spaces Jim, 5 for car beds and one for the pit and rolling road!

Re: Classic for under £10K
The 8v is no slouch. My son-in-law had a K-reg one, luscious deep green metallic, green velour, green glass, black interior. Once we had re-done the grounding points (lovely PSA push-ons!), the car was an absolute joy, and an interesting comparison to our one-year-older 19RD.
I have ambitions to get Jim behind the wheel of a BX (maybe ours) one day...

But ultimately dangerous.... I would then be so tempted to have one of my own... I have a track record for that... It would not be the first time it would have happened...
