I thought it was cold down here, but boy that is cold. Coldest Dec/Jan we have had for many years here. We have had a few showers but it hasn't come to anything yet.

Blimmin 'eck :) It was only -6C at home this morning...

I've got one of these Bresser 5 in 1 weather stations which I got for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago:

https://www.bresser.de/en/Weather-Time/ ... black.html

It's mounted on a 2 metre pole on the top of the garage and does inside/outside temperature and humidity, air pressure, wind speed and direction and rain fall. The outside temperature sensor has shade vanes to make it a bit more accurate in direct sun.

It does some basic short term logging on the device - for example you can cycle back through the last 12 hours of temperatures hour by hour, see hourly, daily, weekly rainfall etc...

But I also have an RTL-SDR (software defined radio) USB dongle plugged into a Raspberry Pi running some software called rtl_433 which is capable of snooping on and decoding the wireless transmissions of loads of different weather stations including mine. From there I have a custom written graphing plugin which creates the graph I posted. :)

I've found this Bresser weather station quite good - the previous cheaper one I had had poor wireless range and wasn't very reliable, the wireless range on this one is terrific and it has been very reliable. I think I've changed the batteries in the sender once since I've had it.

Tech support seems good - Joshua knocked it onto the floor and broke the removable foot, which doesn't seem to be sold separately, however after emailing them to ask if they had any they sent me one for free! :)

Snow Good still hanging on. Yesterday was very wet, a decent amount of melting but a full on re-freeze overnight, and a beautiful clear day with crunchy snow and ice covered landscape today.

They keep forecasting it for down here, but the only flurry we have seen was when they hadn't forecast it!

Oh yes that's better, I should hang on to that in case you have to build an igloo.

We had a little early this morning. It made my run rather challenging as the falling snow was wet, sleety and driving hard in the strong wind
