A nice selection of Lancias indeed Neil, I think you've picked the most sensible one as the Monte Carlo, desirable as it is, would be a complete toy and unjustifiable to SWMBO. However, given my current C5 screen issues, I am looking to replace it and this little gem caught my eye! :-D

That blue and white Prefect looks nice Neil, although it doesn't look like 'prefect' on the bonnet but I'm pretty sure it is as it has 4 doors, that's the only 100E they made with the OHV engine from the new Anglia.

It does say Prefect, couldn't read it off the original picture. Its a bit different to the 1939 Prefect that I had, cable brakes, transverse leaf springs, 6 volt electrics, 3 speed gearbox and no heater!

I had one of these the first time round - wouldn't mind another one. Mine was a bit older than that.

I only paid a few hundred for mine in the '60s. It had some tatty seat covers on it so I thought the seats were shot, I took them off and there was red leather underneath like new, same as the on in the video.

I drove one on and off as taxi/wedding car, as a student vacation job in Warrington around 1969.
Boat-like, solid, and luxuriously lumbering, foot down hard it made hefty progress.
I think the military used them for staff cars.

There were a lot of wartime Humber staff cars, they very often show up on TV. I also had a couple of Super Snipes, similar car but 6 cylinder engine and picnic tables in the back of the rear seats.

In Egypt I fitted a new engine in a Humber staff box,( look it up) :) for the workshop CO, we also had a couple of more modern Humber trucks a bit like an inflated Austin Gypsy, can't find a photo at the moment.
