You'll probably need to take it directly from the battery as the doors are controlled via the BSI after codes are exchanged with the fob. How are you going to overcome the Alarm if fitted as that is also usually deactivated once the handshake is completed.

If you remove & look behind the glovebox you will find what looks like 4 cut wires (white/red from memory), they are spare/repair wires pre routed through the bulkhead available for fitting accesories etc, the other ends of them are located underneath the under bonnet fusebox where you can extend them to the battery.
Poking wires through the big grommet above the BSI is not a good idea & doesent usually end well for the BSI.

As far as i know all mk1 C5's have the repair wires. The BSI area behind the glovebox is a bit of a mess with wire & the can be difficult to spot. Lift out the under bonnet fusebox, The will be easier to spot at that end.

There should be 4 wires not just 2 you unclip the fusebox out of the box it sits in. The only fixing you need to remove is the 13mm nut for the positive connection to allow you to separate the maxi fuse part. You dont need to remove the battery to do any of this but best to disconnect it.

There might be numbers codes printed on the wires, so that could be worth looking for.

Thats the ones. Have you found the other ends inside yet?
Its not hard to work out which is which, either set your meter to ohms & check which ones have continuity. Or connect one to the battery (making sure the ones at the other end are not touching anything) and then check which one has 12v.

Just match the codes up at the BSI end inside, I would still always confirm with a meter though.
