GoT theme.

These two are really very good if somewhat theatrical occasionally.

Posted today these tracks do not qualify Steve but rather than the yellow card route if you could remove them and repost them on Christmas Eve when the Nos are scheduled that would be great!! :-D

Yes Paul, I did enjoy the flashback from the Quarrymen - brilliant!! :)

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu.

Mick may have the inside line on the meaning of that word with his New Zealand connections.

Google translate came up with this;

"Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu" translates roughly as "The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the slider, climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his kōauau (flute) to his loved one".

Progressive music underrepresented on the calendar :?:

Quiet Sun only released one album, it is notable for Phil Manzanera later went on to Roxy Music of course and Brian Eno who produced their one and only LP.

The album is progressive music, so guaranteed to be instantly dislikable for a casual couple of minutes listen. Undoubtedly progressive albums have to be "got into" but can become personal favourites. Maybe there may be a bit of interest to be gained from the John Peel Collection's little mini docu Q is for Quiet Sun.

track

Mini docu.

The Quantic Soul Orchestra reached the dizzy heights of having one of their tracks feature on the soundtrack of the American Version of "House of Cards" . Series 02 Episode 05 to be precise and the track was Pushin' On. featuring the vocals of Alice Russell

Not that keen on the vocals so here's an instrumental offering from them, title track of the album.
