The FCF Musical Advent Calendar 2020

Post by mickthemaverick »

The FCF Musical Advent Calendar 2020

Please post up tracks each day by groups whose names begin with the letters shown in the calendar below. No solo artists are permitted and the letter must be the first main initial of the group's name, eg The Who would be "W", Emerson, Lake and Palmer would be "E" etc. Each group name may only be posted in one post.
As we have 25 days, finishing on Christmas Day you will note, there are two letters for today. "A" until 2PM "B" after 2PM!!(Amended to new calendar with X&Y combined and Z & Numbers for last day which is now Xmas Eve. The new calendar can be found at the beginning of each letter after "Q".)
Hopefully we should get a decent mix by Christmas!! :) :) :)

Top down, if you are lucky enough to have a drop-head, cabriolet, convertible or roadster, sunroof fully open if you dont have one of those, but at the minimum all the windows wound down and select this track from the list, and you are on Ventura Highway in the sunhine with the freewind blowing through your hair.

I cannot let the "A"s slip by without posting one of my all time favourite songs:

I can see this turning into a highly emotional discussion :rofl2: :rofl2: More than 1 person yes, but in my view a duet is not a group with an identifiable qualifying group name!! You wouldn't expect me to accept Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers as a group would you? :-D :-D

JUst to capture a few "A"'s and to get ABBA into the list, and to select something from their long list of songs which wasnt that obvious I listened to this. Anna-Frid Lyngstad taking the premier role in the singing on this occasion, Andante, Andante.

Another anthem from back in the 1970's slimmed down for the single version, but esteemed keyboard player Rick Wakeman rated the keyboad solo on the long version as one of the greatest in rock.

OK, on to the Bs. I give you Berlin.

Ignore the cheesy Tom Cruise video and listen to the music.
