Quote NF
I think one of the songs from the second group was a classic and worthy of an advent calendar spot.

Nail on the head Mick, "There she Goes" was the one I meant! Big overlook from Paul unless he doesn't like the track of course!

Intuition...I've just thought of one and I did like it at the time so it meets my own criteria

Just overlooked I'm afraid. Another local band to me of course.

I was going to go for the predictable 'Run For Home', but decided on this rare live performance of Lady Eleanor instead.

and that's one that I missed :-D Like that track though. Ray Jackson on Mandolin. I think he got £15 for playing the mandolin bit on Maggie May by Rod Stewart.

.....and John Peel was famously used on the TOTP performance of Maggie May to mime playing the mandolin on condition he kept in the shadows as I don't think he was a member of the Musician's Union - so Rod Stewart made sure he stood next to him so the cameras couldn't avoid filming him

Surprisingly this isnt the product of scanning down a list of "L"s and finding Lonnie Liston Smith and the Cosmic Echoes.

Not the first time I have put this track up, it forms part of the Pickled Egg Jukebox laid back Soundz playlist....

Crikey, there's another obvious one.

Think about a bunch of amateur footballers on tour to of all places Clitheroe, and a Saturday Night bus trip into Blackpool....this was one of the songs which was popular at the time in the "disco's".

You might get it from the lyrics
Tonight....They're turning on the heat
Tonight.... You're in for such a treat
Tonight.... Put on your dancin' feet
And dance, dance, dance
Tonight....We'll leave the world behind
Tonight.... From now the place is right
So put your hand in mine
And dance, dance, dance
The next line gives it away.
I'll let it stew and invite anyone to post it up....should pass the referee :-D

Against my better judgement I think Neil's looking for this;

I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
