No, length is not listed. They don't provide detailed dimensions as the part number is generally sufficient. Some aftermarket suppliers will state 991 mm and other 1075mm in length - so be wary of this.

Citroen's original belt is usually a Gates brand from personal experience, but they are currently £66.24 for the 0816F2 part and £33.34 for their approved cheaper brand from Eurorepar at present.

Work is all done on the 206. Skimmed head new Elring head gasket kit, Gates timing belt kit and water pump, auxilliary belt, new coolant obviously, oil and filter change, air filter, new T/Stat, Bosch spark plugs. Going good then a phone call. Won't turn over. Starter motor out and it was dead. New starter motor fitted and all good. What a tight job that is to replace starter. Need new steering control arms next. £59 a pair for Febi ones..........that'll do nicely.

If an 8V TU it's a doddle of a job... One of the easiest HGs to do...

16V version is not hard either... Oil leaking out from the front of the head gasket joint on an TU engine is standard. They all do it... Except my two that is! The only dry TU engines I know :D

We scrapped my daughter's 16v 1.4 206 rather than have the hassle of fixing the oil leak from the head gasket. Maybe, in retrospect, that was bit hasty.

May be lack of coolant changes with the gaskets going. Not a bad wee engine really the 8v. Only 51k on this.

Yes, like all PSA engines, they do like to have their coolant looked after...

I love the TU, it's such a happy, revvy little engine with a big sense of fun and adventure :)

I love them so much I'm happy to overlook their occasional incontinence issues

An update on the PUG. Starter from ECP. A Remy item which is AC Delco. After going ok for a few days it is not throwing the pinion. Tap with hammer and it goes. All out again for a replacement. PITA. Will put a Bosch one in.

Lexi - I've lost count of the number of times many of us have mentioned it here, but I'll repeat it again - your main issue is ECP. Avoid like the plague - I've yet to hear of anything thing from this company that hasn't turned up damaged, broken, non-functional or the wrong part. The only thing I will ever buy from them if I have to - is various branded cans of aerosol sprays and lubricants - never any parts, mechanical or electrical.

I don't doubt it Marc. I needed a starter that day and GSF have no Glasgow branch now, and nearest is Hamilton. There is a TMS at the airport, but I haven't tried them yet. I have been getting good service and parts from Mr Auto and Car Parts in Motion on Ebay. A lot of the places around here have gone. Partco and Brown Bros were my go to for many years. Don't come to Scotland Marc................nothing but scenery , rain and midges

Following on from Marcs theme. The second starter from ECP was a Valeo rebuilt in Poland. Screeches like a cat on engaging. It is like a sharp crack/scream. WTF? Daughter says to leave it in............she has had enough  I phoned manager and logged the fault and complaint.

Removed Valeo starter and worked it with remote battery. Noise at first then ran fine. Used high quality grease and went over pinion and shaft after winding it to the stop. Tried again off the car, better. Put on car again...........seems fine now.

Marc: Wonder if you can check if the Pug has ABS on the rear drums? It is an auto so may have extra braking. Is it a Lucas or Bendix system? Maybe just what they fit on the day of course. Fitted an A2A Exhaust from GSF today on it. Long middle pipe and silencer. Not a good fit IMO. Oh well ..........it is quiet at least.
