Hello ! So amongst all this stuff is these switches , what are they for ? I'm guessing steering related.

Yes, steering wheel rotaries They carry the airbag and remote radio control signals...

They are as rare as the proverbial now... Several different versions exist between S1 and S2 models.

Valuable now 👍

I don't recall ever seeing one for a Xantia with yellow plugs, they are usually orange.

 started the new xantia up today to do some rusty work , then had a high pressure pipe burst ffs . Another job I've given myself. It runs behind the left headlight Infront of the battery tray . Can anyone tell me where it goes and what size it is on the 99 car ?

Does it run along the bottom of the chassis member behind the LH wheel arch? That is probably the HP feed to the PAS, which is a world of pain as a) it's a composite pipe with metal and rubber sections and b) it runs in one piece from the Hp pump to the steering rack, via the wrong side of the engine bay, so is a pig to remove. There have been several methods of repairing this, depends on where it's gone, and what its general condition is.

Not sure , it comes from the radiators round the battery and under the fuse box

It's that small pipe, sorry bad photo the sun was making it difficult, I've since washed all that rust away too , I think I might end up doing some welding here at some point

Sounds like it might be the feed pipe to the RH front suspension strut...

Only thing to do is trace it from source or to destination if you can...

It's not that one then... Sorry, I neglected to observe yours is a Hyderactive model with large suspension pipes... Non-Hydractive models do have thin pipes to the suspension struts...

I do apologise...

Hey man , I didn't even know it was a hydractive model , haha , I havnt had a proper look around apart from inside, so the button to the right of the steering wheel, next to the Sus lockout . Is that the hydractive firm / soft setting ?
It's hard to trace this pipe , there's so much in the way compared to our petrol S1 1.8.
I think I like punishment , I've had a s@#t year then have this >
