TT I assume?
It was a cabriolet of some generation, and was up for sale or an old sale listing, and I think it had an oldish UK plate on it "W" reg or something. Not a TT but somehow from stumbling across it last night, to this morning, I can't find it again, and google image search doesn't come up with the goods.

It was a long, reasonably nice looking thing maybe something along these lines but a deeper shade of yellow.

I'll have to put out a Trivia Investigation Team post to find it. :-D

The only Audi I've ever see that looks fairly easy on the eye... Maybe because it's a yellow one

Now if the delvings into the Audi 80 Cabriolet have tickled your taste buds, and the wizard's advice about them being an appreciating classic, here is your chance :

I noticed that Mick too not a fan of the colour but someone will be able to do a job on it. It should go for a price that gives you a chance if the wizard is right, but with all these things the price and effort of a decent restoration is going to hit its current price ceiling pretty quickly.

I think there would be more enjoyment from buying the yellow one even at at over £10,000, doing a spring/summer 5,000 miles in it and selling it at the next springs auction if necessary. Even if it drops in price by a couple of thousand it would be far better that buying a restorer of unknown restoring expense with countless hours of toil and little on the road pleasure.

Of course if you enjoy the restoration process, have the gear, the premises and the contacts and don't mind getting your hands dirty its a different matter.

If I still had the workshop I had when I did the Stag I would happily take it on. I like the colour being a fan of British Racing Green, Brooklands Green and similar shades in general but I'm not keen on the car, mainly because it is an Audi with the Germanic ride quality and rather brutish looks. I expect it to make in the £4-6k region and will be worth £12kish with around £4k spend and loads of hours. I do all the work myself with the aid of my super-mechanic mate when 4 hands are needed and it keeps me off the streets! :-D

Well the clocks and the steeering wheel arent too bad, but quite a stretch to put the radio on, and one for the plastic purist.

Ironic then that a car that could really do with radio controls on the steering wheel hasn't got anywhere to put them!! :-D
