Re: peugeot 508 speed cameras
Speed camera updates are separate. It depends on the system you have fitted as to how you update them. Some are subscription only (connected NAV) for the Tom Tom systems.
If not the above system and you have something like an RT6, then you can get them cheaper from SCDB:

Re: peugeot 508 speed cameras
Ok, so you have a SMEG+I V1 unit. The Speed Camera updated is quite small and only takes a few seconds to update.
There's a guide on installing both Map updates and Speed Camera updates on the Peugeot Forum here:

Re: peugeot 508 speed cameras
These are the contents of the speed camera file using the link in that post:
So make sure you have downloaded the file correctly (bear in mind that zippy is banned in the UK, so you'll need to use a VPN to access the link). Make sure you re-format the USB key again. Then extract the zip file to the key. You should have all the content listed above.
Obviously that speed camera file is out of date now - but at least you can see how to do the update and what types of files should be on the USB drive.
You will have to source a later file from elsewhere - but these are available on monthly basis from Peugeot via their Navigation site:

Re: peugeot 508 speed cameras
Try the link below - but I can't say for sure which system you have - there are 2 possibilities Connected Nav or the Touchscreen 7".
If you have the 'Connected Nav' system then you can't do POI updates (which include Speed Camera Updates) without a subscription service with a Peugeot Account. Map updates are free for life, but not the live services.
Using the link below, don't try using your VIN as it will say invalid. Instead, select Model 508 and year 2016 and then you will see the 2 types of system. The top one (Connected Nav) will tell you what I've just said and the 'Touchscreen 7" ' will take you to the purchase page - BUT, I wouldn't buy one of these if you have 'Connected Nav' as it won't work on a Connected Nav system.
If you have the Connected Nav and want to subscribe to live updates which should include Speed Cameras, up to date POI and fuel prices shown at petrol stations and car parks with spaces etc. etc. (dependent upon version of Connected Nav as to what is available), then follow the link shown under that option as it is something the Peugeot Dealer has to activate for you when you subscribe.

Re: peugeot 508 speed cameras
Unfortunately the POI database is updated monthly, so that;s why they charge. You can get a yearly subscription for less than the one-off monthly one.
The latest Connected Nav systems also have free map updates, and the Live traffic information, Speed Camera Updates, and all the other malarkey are free for 3 years from activation, then you can opt to subscribe or not.
These are then updated via WiFi directly to the vehicle, so no USB to deal with. Useful if you do a lot of travelling or on holiday abroad - especially when looking for petrol stations / prices and updated info, but for local trips in my case (in the back and beyond) I wouldn't bother or would hold off until I needed the actual info.
