Who said they had never made a C5 cabriolet when I posted my creation on the virtual March Meander, under the spoiler at viewtopic.php?p=639230#p639230, well:

September 2nd the last entry on the C5 (Originals) Gallery?

Surely not. Lets dig up the first post on the thread
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 12 Mar 2020, 12:40 In the interests of easy participation a simple thread. Lets see how it goes

You can even take a photo of your own vehicle!, or it can be an easy spotting thread...although a C5 on the road or in the car park isnt that common a sight these days.

Of course creativity is encouraged, interesting locations, compositions, nightime shots, beach shots...anything.
So today I spotted a rare sight these days a C5 Estate....(or do people call these "tourers" now)

Go on folks, decent day, get the camera out and take a brochure picture of your C5 and add to the gallery.
Go for a location shot, or just at home....

easy enough to join in :?:

Well not for me, I have to rely on an on the road or in the car park spot to contribute, and C5's are a rare sight out and about.

If you want to add an original C5 Marketing Phrase to your photo try this
"Passion Meets Logic" Here is a car that will stimulate your heart as much as your head, your body as much as your soul.
....really?

I think that qualifies you fo a C5 Spotter First Class badge Mick. Airdream was the word I was looking for. The other gubbins I can neither confirm or deny but looks fine to me. Was the Airdream a special edition?
Aidream was the missing word.

I don't think it was a special edition as such, merely a name to indicate that air conditioning came as standard equipment as a marketing ploy. The lower ranked model was the C5 1.6 e-HDi VTR+ Nav which offered aircon as an option. Then you could have an Exclusive but I'm not quite sure where that slotted in, above or below the airdream. I'm sure a real C5 expert will clarify that for us!! :-D

The Airdream bit refers to the fact they've built it (allegedly) to their own 'environmental' standards. 8-[

1. Low CO2
2. Built in ISO4001 plant (ISO4001 - Environmental Standards)
3. Be (mostly) recyclable.
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

There is this 2010 C5 brochure I found on Citronet. Full of those marketing phrases
"Athletic Aesthetics", "Invigorating Luxury", "Controlled Power" Your heart wants to pump, your head wants to control. So the Citroen C5 pays equal homage to both".

Aah! Thanks bobins, I've just found this site with the story: https://www.citroen.co.uk/about-citroen ... -signature
Looks like I was 15 years out of date with the aircon theory, that was from another marque which I remember brought out a model name to indicate aircon, may have been Ford but I can't remember TOH. Maybe Gibbo could enlighten us on that marque? :)

I have been hunting around trying to discover the marque I was thinking of which gave the aircon as standard model a special name. The one I have found I do remember but I'm not sure if it is the one I was thinking of. Anyhow my digging has turned up the Volvo Wentworth which was an aircon equipped 940. I looked on the Volvo owners club for a definition of the Wentworth and found this:

"A Wentworth is an offical model and was based on a Volvo 940 SE 2.0 Turbo (B200FT). The difference being that the Wentworth came standard with Air conditioning and no sunroof. The sunroof wasn't even available as an option. There was an "Option pack Wentworth" which included Full leather trim, 20 spoke alloys and Metallic paint. "

So as I have had enough digging I will settle for that as the car I was thinking of!! :-D

I have often wondered why it got the "Wentworth" badge as Volvo got badly stung with calling the Amazon an Amazon. Then they did it again with the Torslanda (Volvo factory near Gothenburg).
The Wentworth I believe had a golfing connection. Probably along the lines of a good walk spoiled so you may as well take the car.

There was an open air version of the C5 - only a prototype though, called the Airdream, presumably as it came with free wind effects.

I think you'll find that Volvo sponsored the PGA Golf tournament held every year at Wentworth Steve, which is where the connection came from! :)
Indeed they did from 1988 to 2004: :-D
