C5 1.6HDI 110

Post by lexi »

I have this estate atm. Not used in earnest yet. It had a seized and leaky injector. Managed to get it out renew seals and clean up. That is ok now. Oil and filter changed. Need to get round the car and find out whats what. Hopefully get up to David and Lexia it. The Vin is:

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Does it have Eolys pouch or a container. 12OK on clock. It goes and pulls well.

You have a hard reservoir for the diesel additive Lexi, too early for a pouch system.

If it's the same as the 2.0. its just in front of the o/s rear wheel under a cover.

It's on the Near Side Peter:

So when gravity filling make sure you are on the Near Side Ignore picture of Saloon - it's the same for the Estate.

This is a 6 plate, an old one. I bet you could get some MPG with this Peter.

Hi, not that it matters :-D , but the OP has a MK II C5, not an X7, bur regardless they are all filled generally from the near side as the additive tank connectors are accessible only from this side when connecting up to the refill pipes. To do it from the other side would require a longer filling tube and would be quite awkward to see what is going on.

Oh right. I was visualizing my X7 and I was sure that the cover was on my left as I was sitting under the car looking toward the back. The other one needs doing now so I will have to re acquaint myself with it.

What gearbox is in this guys? The one that isn't as strong as my previous 2.0 hdi? It feels treacly through the changes as though it has thick oil in it. I think this one whines in slow gears more, although all the mk 1's do it slightly.

You have the BVM5 (BE4-5L) box on your 1.6 Lexi.
My 2.0 C5 MK II had the BVM6 (ML6 CL) box as does my current MK III X7 (although slightly updated).

Spheres:

I'm putting the genuine Citroen OEM (OEM) sphere part numbers first, followed by the Citroen cheaper versions (CHP).

CHP: 1638380380 (£72.10)

Rear Corners
OEM: 1638044680 (£147.11)
CHP: 1638375780 (£61.60)

All prices from Citroen as of today inc. VAT.
