That Xantia deserves a closer look... Good ones are getting rare now.... Good find Mick :)

That HY made strong money  As much as I dream of owning a H Van I fear it'll remain just that, a dream :(

If the Xantia is a V6 they'll fit as both used the ZF 4HP20...

However, not quite as simple as that given the electronics around them... The 'box and ECU really are a pair that are best not separated...

Could be done...

If a 4HP20 can be mated to a 2.0HDi engine then it might be possible to do that too although there were no HDi Xantia automatics officially produced... Only the 110 HDi could take an HP20 if the bellhousing pattern is compatible and I think it may be, given it used an ML5 manual 'box... The 90 HDi could not as that was made for the smaller manual BE3 gearbox and the bellhousing would be too different, as would hubs and so on...

Could bean interesting project for someone :)

Thanks Jim, I always forget about the electronic issues. I think I'll drop that idea before it goes any further! Considerably more complex than putting a 1300cc A Series into an 850 mini which just involved some mounting cobbling and inner arch fettling. I'm too old for all that stuff now so I think I will crawl back to my cave.. :sulk:

Come on French Car Forumers, check your pulse if this doesn't stir the passions. Is there anything more bonkersly French-looking than this :?:

I would have been tempted with that Neil until I saw it was LHD which doesn't make any sense here. Some other interesting options cropping up in that ACA list for further consideration! :)

Another little french gem:

Now that is a gem :D A very generally underrated one too... A big 205 with all the 205 attributes... Fantastic to drive :D

A friend once has a 309 GTi Goodwood... Now that is the ultimate... Polished wood and leather - the lot...

You could always do a "Dukes of Hazzard" job on her and weld the rear doors shut!

I think the MK1 C5 HDi auto used an AL4 Jim, not the 4HP20.
