C5 X7 Two stage central locking

Post by Argos69 »

Okay, today's Citroen "puzzle"!

On previous C5 X7 Tourers, we had the 2 stage central locking feature.
First "open" press of the remote, opens drivers door, second press does the rest. I know how to get to the option on the Comfort menu and its always worked on previous cars.

Our new 2.2 Exclusive opens all doors on the first press. When I go to the Comfort menu, the option to select 1 or 2 stage opening is shown and selectable. BUT! Nothing changes and when I go back to the menu, it's gone back to "all doors" (or whatever the wording is).

Any ideas folks?

Ok, so if you have the option as shown below, then that means it has been activated in Diagbox (if it was not activated, the menu option would not be shown in the LCD menu):

If you have Diagbox there may be one of the following fault codes shown that could affect the operation of the selective locking (Driver´s door):

A4ED Short circuit to the BAT+
B4ED Short circuit to earth
C4ED Open circuit

It may still be double checking the option is still enabled in the BSI configuration though to be sure.

Yes my C5 2009 Hdi has an issue with ,when driving all doors lock and the red light is on, I have to press it to let people in. Does any one know if I can deactivate it or is it a fault.

You are talking about a different feature - not what this topic is about.

The feature you are talking about is by design. It is designed so that the doors and boot will lock automatically after you start driving off over 6 MPH / 10 KMH for security reasons. It means if you are at the traffic lights or slow down, nobody can open the door or the boot and snatch a phone / wallet / handbag from the inside and run off!

If you want to turn it off, press the lock button for more than 2 seconds to disable this feature. To reactivate it, press again for a few seconds.
