DS5 cabin filter location
Hello,
I am new here so not sure if this has been answered before.
I have a Citroen DS5 2012 2.0 Diesel auto ds sport here in the UK so a Right hand drive. Please can someone guide me were the pollen/cabin filter is. I think for European LHD models it is somwhere under the glove box. I am not sure for RHD cars. Please if someone knows please guide or a link on how to change.
Thank you

Re: DS5 cabin filter location
Hi and welcome.
The pollen filter is in the same place regardless of right or left hand drive, as they are the same heater units.
On a Left Hand Drive. officially, the glove box needs to be removed to get access - but I can't tell you whether it is achievable without doing this (in the case you have twiglet fingers). The instructions below are therefore applciable to a left hand drive - there are no specific instructions for a right hand drive, so I would expect access to be easier with no glovebox.
On these, there are typically 2 filters. Once has to be removed, and the other then lifted up and extracted afterwards.

Remove:
| Unclip and remove the pollen filter flap (3). |
Remove the first pollen filter (4) (In the direction of the arrow ). | Slide the second pollen filter (5) upwards. Remove the second pollen filter (5) (In the direction of the arrow ). |

Re: DS5 cabin filter location
If the heater unit is the same for RHD cars would the pollen filter not be under the steering wheel in a RHD and under the glove box for a LHD?

Re: DS5 cabin filter location
No, because as I explained, they only produce one type of heater system (but there can be more than one heating system of course, but the same applies) regardless. They can't just reverse the whole of the heater system and its internal components because of the side of the road we drive on - it would not be cost effective. That's why the brake pedal on a right hand drive is connected to a long pole that operates the control on the left hand side, where the brake servo is located on that side of the engine bay.
It's the same for the BSI and fuse boxes - they remain on the left - in the glovebox on a RHD and in the driver's oddment cubby hole storage on a LHD.
Edit: To confirm the pollen filters are indeed on the right hand side for all vehicles regardless of LHD or RHD.

Re: DS5 cabin filter location
Sorry i am just confused. If on a LHD the filter location is under the glove box so now if you switch around to the RHD now the stearing wheel is on the side where the glove box was and everything else remains in the same location. So now the filter should be under the stearing wheel? As it is the original glove box location. Am I right?

Re: DS5 cabin filter location
Further checks and clarification show the filters are on the right hand side - the diagram clarifies this as the image is showing the unit looking at it from the engine facing side:
Your cabin filters are item (10), so they are slotted in on the left of the unit as shown by the lines in this view of the diagram, so will be on the right when viewed from inside the car looking towards the bonnet.

I haven't tried this myself but here's a video of someone doing it
Re: DS5 cabin filter location
Well I am a little confused I watched my mechanic change the cabin filters on my R/H 2013 DS5 auto and they are on the right below the steering wheel up underneath the dash,a number of bits of plastic trim are taken of to get access to the two filters, one important point is if you use Euro Car Parts web site only put 1 in the box as they are sold in pairs,I know that because I put two and so got four filters

@ Zipdip & farhanuk77
Guys - I do apologise - I revisited this and have updated my posts above for clarification and correction. The diagram in my posts above I have added to clarify. On the DS5 specifically and all incarnations of it, the pollen filters are on the right hand side as viewed sitting in the car. They are always on the right regardless of the RHD / LHD version, which remains correct.
The diagram I have now added in my previous post above threw me initially, as it shows the engine facing side, along with a poor procedure that does not specify it was for LHD vehicles which of course would require the glovebox (on the right hand side on a LHD car) being removed, which it of course does not on a left hand drive.
So for right hand drive vehicles there is no glovebox to worry about. Just access from the driver's side footwell. I've edited my posts above to avoid confusion and clarify.
Sorry for the confusion - especially to farhanuk77

Thanks for all the useful information guys.
But, actually, does anyone knows what’s the white fabric part near the steering column? Mine is ripped.

Re: DS5 cabin filter location
Ok, so the DS5 does not have a driver's knee airbag, so that rules that out
Next, the only thing I can think of is that there is a square piece of adhesive 'felt' that goes somewhere behind the steering wheel control module, so maybe that has been changed at some point and has fallen down?
