Got an Email from Hermes yesterday "Your parcel was delivered and signed for at 4-49 today," has a tracking number, no parcel and I wasn't expecting one.
Got onto their website, what a bloody nightmare!.
The only help available is a robot set to answer pre-set questions and nowt else.
Digging deep I found a phone number for the help service, called it bloody hell it's another robot that asks for the tracking number tells you it's been delivered and signed for and ends with a request that I go to another website and give feedback on my experience.

Re: Hermes
They brought me a package yesterday and as usual, it was a good, quick service. The only recent change I've experienced is that my deliveries are now always brought by different guys, at various times of day. It used to be the same young woman to deliver or collect, and always around the same time of day.

Re: Hermes
They rarely knock now, but leave the package and take a photo of it next to your door for evidence. This is how our Hermes deliveries have been for the last 5 months or so now. No signing during the Kung Flu

Same here. Despite all the stories of Hermes and their brethren being inept and incompetent, I don't have a single complaint about them.GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 11:21 They rarely knock now, but leave the package and take a photo of it next to your door for evidence. Re: Hermes
I've had 2 deliveries this week from the UK, a skid lid for my daughter sent with DPD, sent on a Sunday, received on Tuesday, most impressed especially for 5 quid postage. The 2nd was a cylinder head for my 1983 GPZ1100, sent with Parcel Force then went to DPD, then Chronopost, 18 quid, took 5 days, again, very impressed. The packaging for the CH helped, it was packed to cope with a war! Common denominator DPD.

I've no objection to Hermes normally, never had a problem, just can't believe how difficult they've made it to resolve a problem now I need to.

Re: Hermes
Do you need to resolve it? You're not being charged for anything are you?

I think like all of these various courier companies it is 90% down to the delivery driver.myglaren wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 17:17Same here. Our previous Hermes delivery driver was a miserable sod and the service reflected his attitude. He didn't last long as where possible we use DPD - BUT, the last 2 DPD drivers were excellent and friendly, taking good care of your packages - then they changed driver. On the first delivery he saw me on the lawn, shouted out DPD? I said yes, and he opened the van door, picked up the parcel threw it 4 feet across the road waved and legged it!
The parcel was some Port Meirion tableware and I thought that had probably been smashed to bits - but luckily not! Got on the phone and told the depot I never want to see that bloke here again - suffice it to say we never have.
The new Hermes person comes complete with his mask on says nothing - just motions and takes a picture and stands well back - I think he doesn't speak a word of English though, as I asked him a question once and he just looked puzzled, smiled and disappeared...

I have a cheapo dash cam ordered from China but the Ebay listing says delivery "by 7th October" and tracking saying it's not left the mainland yet, I'm just wondering if it's that arrived earlier than expected.

Re: Hermes
If it's been signed for (whatever it is) then can you order a copy of the signature? In fact I doubt that there's a signature but there might be a photo.

Re: Hermes
They're not doing signatures now due to the Covid rules.
I managed to get through to them by asking for the photo, it took me to a new page that asked for my phone number and promised contact within two working days. We'll see.
