DS5 (2017) Urea/Engine/Service Lights
Just had these alerts pop up. Garage says P20E8 error found, they checked & reset everything but 2miles later they are back. Wondered if any othe DS5 owners had similar issue?

Re: DS5 (2017) Urea/Engine/Service Lights
This code relates to the reductant pressure being too low.
This can mean there is a leak in the Urea system somewhere - either the reservoir or the supply line somewhere. It does need looking at earlier rather than later as at some point if there is a leak and it becomes worse, then the time remaining before you cannot start the engine will decrease rapidly.

Yes - still under warranty - so take advantage of it. I've seen some pretty awful failures of these -
This is what can happen when there is a leak at the Adblue supply line to the injector - the Adblue dries and crystalises:

Re: DS5 (2017) Urea/Engine/Service Lights
what can go wrong with the actual adblue tank that it needs replacing
If it does can you get a refurbished part or a non Citroen part?
Cannot afford a new tank
Could it be the injector
The NOx sensor has been replaced
Can anyone help?

Re: DS5 (2017) Urea/Engine/Service Lights
The are several issues. The older tanks suffered from rusting components caused by the UREA and air in the tank. Later tanks were updated with more plastic components to help prevent this. Then there were issues with the vacuum in the tanks causing the pumps to fail and a modification was a different type of Adblue cap.
There can also be issues with them generally failing as the pumps are integral. The actual NOx injection system can also fail and UREA can also leak from the injector (you can see white crystallisation where this happens).
It really depends on the year and model as many tanks are different in capacity and design according to the vehicle they will be fitted to.
As for you question, yes you can purchase a genuine tank (there are no aftermarket tanks to my knowledge) for a lot less than the manufacturer will charge, however it will still need use of a diagnostic tool to release the hydraulic pressure in the tank if necessary.
DS will charge you just over £1000 for the tank minus fitting. You can get a genuine new tank for roughly £800-850. The tank must be the exact correct one for your vehicle though, so you need to make sure.
However, there can be lots of causes for UREA faults, so you would be well advised to get a proper diagnostic done first.
