mickthemaverick wrote: 01 Sep 2020, 12:21 Unbelievable fact number one for the Stroll story. I contacted my insurance this morning to add Bob to the policy for the week and they sent me a quote:

Addition of one driver as detailed for 13-18th September £0.00

Administration charge £0.00

Total Cost £0.00 :bd: :bd: :bd: :bd: :bd:

Hovering over the like button for that one MIck! I may revisit and click when the milestone is secured!

Not often that that happens.
Maybe they think it is safer with someone else driving

Two more maps arrived in today's post and they have now been plotted. Just two left to come now, Liverpool and Telford and the route will be complete!! :-D

Is the plotting a precise and neat process or is a broad brush luminous highlighter applied?

In my view it is a neat and precise job :-D , judge for yourself from this example:

The yellow spots mark the position of Shell stations throughout the route!! :)

Good Job!

The map must be some years old Mick as the Western Bypass on the A1 is shown as a dotted line, and only the Scotswood Bridge at Blaydon crossing the Tyne. The new bridge completing the Western Bypass was opened on 1st December 1990 by HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Have you chosen your route back to Steve's from High Force?

I have plotted the route back to the A19 using a mix of your and Steve's suggestions. It goes back to Middleton then up the B road across the moors to Stanhope and on through Edmund*** to Consett then across to Chester-le-Street and up the A19 to the tunnel. Many of the maps are old but that will be part of the fun in sorting out new layouts, new roads, one way systems etc as we go. Obviously I can show you the whole lot in Whitley Bay!! :-D

Consett to Chesterle Street will take you past Pontop Pike the TV Transmitter which I do believe appeared on one of your former work projects documents which you posted on the forum.

This might be better - misses Consett which is taking you out of your way anyway, skirts Chester le Street and up through the tunnel to Whitley Bay.

Hight Force to Whitley Bay

Thanks for that Steve, I can see that is a faster route which would be preferable to most people, however we are trying to minimise motorway routes and maximise B road usage so the moors route better meets our objectives. We will probably be away from High Force around 3-3.30 so we will have at least 3 hours to use up on the route to Whitley Bay. Of course the weather at the time may also have a bearing on the actual route we use. :-D

OK Mick.
I usually take the scenic route too.

Paul, is the situation you forecast still the same? I hope to get and plot the Liverpool map today or tomorrow so if anything has changed and you can meet I need to know where? :-D
