So something has either been miswired / changed (especially the ignition / battery terminal wiring), or it has a malfunctioning remote starter system I would suspect.

itself, That was why I was asking, This was the model that used a reversible alternator instead of a starter motor.
My bet here is an issue with the under bonnet fusebox.
