Citroen C5 x7 factory alarm retrofit

Unread post by Falka »

Hi all!

So i have a 2011 c5 x7 3.0 HDI.
I had the stupid idea to retrofit the factory alarm into my car. Fortunetly every cable and connector were factory pre-installed. I just needed the sensors and modules. :)

After everything put into its place, i tried to trigger the alarm by the volumetric sensor but nothing (i waited the needed 45sec/5min). Plugged in my diagbox and manually activated the siren (that works), then i tested the volumetric sensor. Siren turned on, but not the blinkers. That made me think that i need to activate / enable the alarm.

Do you guys see from those screencaps why its not working properly?
Im thinking the first two pictures has the answer, but i wanted to ask here before i changes stuff.

Any help is appreciated!

We don't know what type of system you have fitted - so can't really advise - for example does it have the anti-tilt system?

You really need to be configuring the alarm ECU itself as you won't see all the parameters in the BSI settings....

I think it does. Heres the siren PN (that has the tilt built into as far as i know)

Thats totally true, but the alarm ecu settings are all seems to be correct (and not much can be changed. mostly just sensitivity stuff). The "internal" tests also came back positive. Siren works, internal volumetric sensor does detect movement. The voluemtric on/off switch works etc. It just doesn't trigger when the car is locked.

What is your VIN please, as there are different modules based on the build date.

Ok so a couple of observations:

The alarm with anti-lift is available as standard for Great Britain.

So going back to the ECU configuration, I suspect you may need to configure it for 'United Kingdom' and also set 'Europe' as the Module Operating Mode.

Set Anti Tilt as Present
Set 'Indicator light control' to 'By the Alarm ECU'
'Sensitivity of the internal sensors' should be set to 'Sensitivity 13'

Then under Configuration of 'Anti Lift' function:
'Sensitivity of triggering of the alarm by the anti-left sensor (X-axis)': Set to 'Sensitivity 3'
'Alarm trigger sensitivity by the anti-lift sensor (Y-axis)': Set to 'Sensitivity 3'

When the siren is triggered, if the interior alarm counter is at 10, an initialisation time delay of 15 min is triggered.
At the expiry of this time delay, the monitoring of the alarm restarts with no interior surveillance.

The alarm kit was originally fitted into a right hand drive c5. So your statement is correct!

The sens stuff is correct in the ECU, i remember that. I will set UK and will test it tomorrow!

Thank you!

Do you think i need to set the "alarm type" in the BSI, to "ALARM FOR THE UK" too?

What I suggest is make the mods we know about first, and record what you have changed, then make those changes in the BSI - but again write down existing values before changing, so you can always revert if necessary.

Everything was already set to those parameters you listed. I changed the BSI options "alarm type" to "ALARM FOR THE UK" and now it works. Perfect :)

Thanks for the help again, Marc. 8-)
