2.0 HDi C5 X7 - which drive shaft?

Unread post by davoxx »

Looking for a drivers side drive shaft as the cv joint is dead.
But there seems to be a load of different sized one?

Is there a difference between manual and auto for the driveshafts?

Vin is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
why?

There are differences between engines and build dates. I'll be happy to confirm the correct ones for you, but as we are charged by PSA for parts data as of March, the Admin Team will only provide live parts data and diagrams for those making a minimum £10 Forum donation - which will cover you for further parts info for up to 2 years.

Further details and donation link below:
A response to your question by a forum admin will require detailed vehicle information that requires you to have made a current contribution to the Forum.

They almost certainly will be different between manual & auto versions.

Ok, great, that's all sorted.

So for the driveshafts for your specific X7:
Davoxx Driveshaft.PNG
Right hand side item (2) part number: 3273SH (New Citroen Genuine Original) £504.82
Right hand side item (2) part number: 3273SJ (Exchange Driveshaft) £299.80

Both include VAT but exclude a surcharge (£66.96) that is refundable once you return your old one.

Thanks!

I have a question, why when I search for 3273SH do I get driveshafts with different lengths from 960 to 1010?
why?

That's the problem with aftermarket suppliers - they will try and flog you anything and their databases are not always correct. I can only provide you with the PSA part numbers and they don't provide the dimensions with the part numbers as these are specific to the vehicle Engine Type, Transmission / Build Date.

I've seen aftermarket sellers quoting lengths from 968 and anything in between up to 1017 - ridiculous!
