POTD is good, very good, but the more regular contributors it gets, it gets better and better!

Yes Lords and Ladies, Devils and Angels, Adam and Eve, Cuckoo-pint, Snakes Head, Parson in the Pulpit,

Interesting snippet from here....
https://www.wildfooduk.com/edible-wild- ... nd-ladies/

The most common upset with Lords and Ladies is if somebody uses the leaves as woodland toilet paper, a mistake they will only make once!

...but, in a reasonably easy target for photographing, it was difficult to get the eight Swans in the same shot, and even more difficult getting all 8 with their heads up because they were feeding as they swam.

So here's one of the rejects, if nothing else confirming once again that POTD welcomes all contributions, with no threshhold of photography skill required! :-D

Credit where credit is due :-D Whats that stuff you are tempting them with? Mine were eating the finest riverbed vegetation hence the constant use of their long necks for the function they have evolved for :-D

On that lords and ladies plant, it does have many alternative names according to wiki

"snakeshead, adder's root, arum, wild arum, arum lily, lords-and-ladies, devils and angels, cows and bulls, cuckoo-pint, soldiers diddies, priest's pintle, Adam and Eve, bobbins, naked girls, naked boys, starch-root, wake robin, friar's cowl, sonsie-give-us-your-hand, jack in the pulpit and cheese and toast.

Yes granted the double B variety!

Has one of my posts gone AWOL? It went something like this
Credit where Credit is Due (ie well done for getting all the swans in the Pic). What was that stuff you were feeding them? Mine were feeding on the vegetation of the riverbed using their long necks as nature intended! :-D

on the Lords and Ladies wiki has a fair list of alternative names
snakeshead, adder's root, arum, wild arum, arum lily, lords-and-ladies, devils and angels, cows and bulls, cuckoo-pint, soldiers diddies, priest's pintle, Adam and Eve, bobbins, naked girls, naked boys, starch-root, wake robin, friar's cowl, sonsie-give-us-your-hand, jack in the pulpit and cheese and toast.

That was duplicated and I deleted one

Did anyone see that post? or did I fail to press the submit button! :?:

I've been feeding them floating duck food pellets since they were old enough to eat them, so they're used to me by now, but it's only in the last week that a couple of them have taken from my hand. The only reason I feed them that close is to try and limit what the ducks eat
