It looks like our intended visit to Bloodhound in Berkeley is not going to happen due to the Covid close down which leaves us free in the morning of day 5. We could therefore head down the A48 from Gloucester to add the Severn Bridge to our crossings collection, which means running pretty close to Bream so maybe we could get together for a late elevenses/early lunch at The Swan or The Bridge Cafe in Lydney Gibbo? :)

I'm not sure about lunch but I'll certainly meet you there for a coffee and a chat,

The Bridge Cafe is directly opposite the Co-op supermarket with a free car park (90 minutes) the council car parks are pay and display.

There's a 20mph speed limit on that stretch of road through the town.

Let me know when.

As an alternative to Beamish, perhaps the Bowes Museum and/or High Force.

My grandson and I were planning on going there for him to practice his photographic skills but his schedule has gone all to hell.

Need to book in advance as entrance is limited.

Bowes Museum

High Force
which is lumped in with Raby Castle, where we were also going to but that is closed.

High force car park kiosk looks good for ice creams Steve. I think the museum is not really our kind of place but elevenses or lunch at high force looks a great idea. We should be there around noon I should think. :-D

I've booked high force, see edit above, but still open to a better option if you find one, ideally closer to Durham but certainly no further west as we will be heading back to the Tyne tunnel afterwards. :-D

Less than 4 weeks to go before the start of the Stroll. Typically the C5's screen started playing up again today as it did a few weeks before the original March Meander date so hopefully I'll get that sorted before we leave. As for the OS Map situation it has now become more important as the satnav may prove unreliable :-D So for the benefit of any new members since I posted the list of maps required if you do have any landranger sheets that you would be willing to lend me, the list of sheets required is on this post. :-D

Hadn't spotted that Mick - I thought the post was a reiteration of the ones I did previously.
Will get that booked now.

Mick - I'll probably have to pull out of meeting with you. We're in France at the moment and I think we'll still be in quarantine when you'll be in Liverpool. I am so disappointed by this.

That is a real pity Paul but a sign of the times we live in. You never know, the quarantine rules may change so there is always a slight possibility that we can go ahead. However I would still be grateful to borrow your maps if you are able to post them to me. I will PM all the people who are meeting us with mobile and address details in a couple of weeks time. :)

Gracious. I had already forgotten about them! Let's hope that I don't forget again between now and getting back.
