Timmo........congratulations you have just posted post number 71000 on the OTCL with this
Timmo wrote: 19 Feb 2019, 21:01 The ah bumper gel is Goood! Likewise I've used it for years, the old 309gti had big plastic bumpers and trims and the rubber spoiler, this stuff was without question the best option, The newer version is clear and has a slightly different fragrance to the old green snot version, but just as good! I put mine on with a cotton type cloth and buff off a little later,
For reference, the hot air gun Does work, we used to use it a lot in the trade during the 90s and early 00's on Astra's as the bumpers on them faded quicker than the paint! Needed to be a hot air gun on a medium heat slowly waved across the plastic from a couple of inches away, time consuming but worth it,

I usually try to mark each 1000 posts with an appropriate picture. 99.9% of the time it turns out to be a locomotive! So I'll be looking for a 71,000 for today's POTD. :-D

OTCL 76000 Posts imminent

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

In around 1 month OTCL has hit 1000 posts. Thats the sort of participation which keeps the forum flowing nicely.

So the 76,000 mark is imminent, already in the nervous 75,990's......

So celebratory pictures invited when it happens!

Another 10 or so more bits of trivia/banter/insight/weighty matters/opinion/news/pictures/quizes/music/humour and the OTCL will have reached 80,000 posts, as evidenced by the FCF's Board Index Page.

and if I say so myself and absolute treasure trove of the 3 "e's" enjoyment and entertainment with a decent smattering of education!

My mother used to say that saying "Rabbits Rabbits" on the first of a month with an R in it was lucky. :-D

My mum always used to say "White Rabbits" as the first words to be said on the first of every month.

Re: OTCL 82000 Posts reached VE Day 2020

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

The counter on the FCF Board Index Screen for the number of posts on the OTCL ticked over to
82,000 a couple of posts ago which rather appropriately is the link Mick Posted up to Winston Churchill announcing the end of hostilities!

viewtopic.php?p=643647#p643647

Let the celebratory posting commence :-D and where better place than the VE Day Thread!

Re: OTCL Info

Well as of now the FCF as a community has found 4,399 topics to talk about in the Off Topic Chat Lounge,

So for the next thread starter on the OTCL the kudos of starting the 4,400th topic. Not quite as good from a number noticers point of view as starting the 4,444 th topic but that could be some time off.

In about a month the Off-topic Car lounge has had 1000 posts, and sometime yesterday in the Isle of Wight Camaro whatsthisthen? the 86,000th post on the OTCL was made.

30+ posts a day has been quite an active month.

New content/ new discussion/ new chat all contributes to creating an enjoyable forum and I would encourage everyone to join-in.

OTCL Info....87,000 posts likely today

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

:-D almost exactly a month ago the 86,000th post was made in our Off topic Chat section of the forum. Today with a small amount of new content/ new discussion new chat the 87,000 posts milestone will be passed. At 1000 posts per month the FCF is an active interesting and enjoyable forum. The higher the number rises in my opinion the better it gets so as ever....

Join in if you can :-D with posts/pictures/replies and the holy grail.....become a thread starter :-D

I'd start a thread here if only I had anything new and interesting to report that's not connected with my cars, my athletic activities or my bikes...

Unless you want to hear about some of my vintage wireless and audio adventures ;)
