No communication with EPB ecu

Post by TonyC »

Good evening.

My 2009 C5 X7 will not release the electric parking brake, bleeping and displaying various messages, 'anti roll back faulty' , 'Handbrake faulty', 'hand brake not applied' etc.
I have diagbox but get the message 'no communication with the ecu' under secondary parking brake.
Does anyone have suggestions as to what to try next?
Thanks in advance
Tony

Ok so what version of Diagbox are you running and have you first undertaken the Global Test?

Hello Marc,
My Diagbox is version v07.83 but I'm pretty naive about how to use it.
The global test had 2 items in red, headlight self adjusters (not sure if this is relevent as the car has hydractive suspension) and secondary parking brake
showing no comm with ecu.
I tried various routes in to read codes but nothing. The battery is good but as a precaution i had it on charge.
Cheers

Success....
Traced the problem to a dodgy earth connection.
Thanks for your input.
Till the next time.
