Took an interest in this following my classic car spot the other day.

Sold for £2,150. Not in the top drawer of sought after vehicles at the moment, but I do like them, and a decent enough price as a classic starter. The reg goes with the car, although whether that in itself is worth the purported £2,300 is another matter.

There is one parked outside my son's place, significant rust and hasn't moved in two years, bloke wants £3,000 for it. Probably worth £300.

Returning my car to his later and will see if I can snap it.

I didn't get a chance to post the rest of the Maxi pics last night due to my laptop upgrade so for the first post from my new nerve centre here they are:

Good car Mick in their time, I had a farmer customer who would buy nothing else after I sold him his first, chucked hay bales, young lambs, fence posts and all in the back, served him well, never a problem.

I think over the years I sold him five of them and when they went out of fashion he kept asking me to find for him another, the last one I found him was almost as new and a Sandy Beige colour about £500 iirc.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Have to agree there Gibbo, probably the best of the BMC front wheel drive family. This one is in pretty good condition from what I could see, there was nobody at home to ask about it. As you can see the ink on the for sale signs is very faded so I think it must have been there for some time. Had it been an auto I may well have left a deposit so perhaps it's just as well as I havn't got space for another car at the moment!! :)

Mathewsons Classic Auction coming up on Saturday probably a few last minute additions to the catalogue this week but here it is as of now.

Have a look and pick something out you might like, even if its just window shopping.

Havent had my first look yet, but it would be unusual if there wasnt something interesting to pull out.

Mathewsons Classic Auction July 18th 2020

Most of the auctions live stream the actual auction, if I find a link I'll post it up.

Had a good browse and I have to say nothing jumps out as an "I'd like to own that" car but the Rover 820 Sterling Coupe is interesting as is the Granada Ghia.. Both affordable and my sort of car these days!! :-D

My Mathewsons interest prickers
I like this little thing haven't seen one for years, Honda's CX500 looked positively ugly in comparison

Image
The one car noise and pollution machine but if you put your foot down sounds great. Three cylinder two stroke and personally I like its look. Would be great with an electric motor in it, as I have seen in one example on youtube. A rare auction appearer and even duff ones seem to get their price, and make a margin for the importers who can be bothered to source them from South Africa.

Image
This White P6 previously sold at Matthewsons for £4,300 and had a bit of "improvement" since but an Insurance Cat C from back in 1999.
Image
Then there is the old Royal Mail Van. Way cheaper than a wreck of a Citroen H Van, and quirky enough in its own right...but plenty of work to turn it into something desirable.
Image
and if you want to follow in similar footsteps to Zel with a slightly older model, there is always this...way more spacious, and way cheaper than the market would let you buy an overrated VW Camper for....
