Put the old unit back and try again. The Radio units are not just radios, they also talk to the cars other systems like the dash display and the BSI. Did you replace it with an aftermarket system or another identical unit? If replacing with like for like, it will need coding to the vehicle with your VIN and any options setting for your Picasso. If replacing with a non-PSA radio, they have to have a special harness to interface with the vehicle's other systems. Also, be aware that you may loose functionality if replacing with an aftermarket unit.

Let us know what you have done, but I suspect you have mis-wired it or wired in a non-compatible unit or without an adaptation harness.

Aftermarket radios can certainly cause electrical problems on multiplexed Citroens if fitted incorrectly (if you just plugged it into the existing harness it will 99% likley be fitted incorrectly) but I've yet to see or hear of one stopping the car starting, never say never I suppose.
Have you maybe blown a fuse during the install? This sounds like the most likely to me. Has it started at all since the new radio fitted?
The mini harness that normally comes with the radio can be adapted to make it work correctly.
What year is the car? any warning messages coming up when you try starting?

Oh dear #-o

First off pin 4 on the original radio is a VAN+ supply & you have connected this to 'steering wheel neg'
Connecting a live supply to a negative wont end well.
Looking at the diagram I'll bet anything you have blown fuse 15 in the BSI behind the dash RH side, hopefully thats the only damage. Check fuse 4 if 15 is ok.

just got back with some mini and maxi fuses going out now to check 15 and 4.....when you say 15 is in bsi do you mean not in cabin fusebox but in the actual comms unit ?
thanks alot fella "fod slap emoji indeed."

WHEEELEERRRRRRR YOU DA MAN. fuse 15 in cabin fusebox was popped good..swapped for new 15a fuse..hey presto dash display locking all working
car not starting but i probably need a jump/charge will update soon but feel confident wheeler was indeed spot on panic semi-over
quick jump all good....i connected only power and speakers h/u workd
next am gonna try connecting steering control lines but where would i connect "steering wheel neg to ??
because steering wheel remote worked but car didnt so i may be able to connect it differently and have both work lol

How about living without steering controls & quitting while your ahead? 😂
I don’t really know enough about the system you are trying to fit, i can try having a look later.
I personally would have used female ISO connectors & made up a plug in harness to save butchering the cars original wiring.
There is no proper switched live at the radio connector either, you need to run a separate ignition feed from the cigarette lighter or elsewhere.

yeah am not arsed about steering controls now even though they worked on first attempt
i just wired both switch and perm from radio to the fat pink wire AND i have radio memory(goes into low power shows cock dim)
also trip/ mpg/ clock all work ??
and now i connect my nokia 2.2 with usb debugging and mirror to this h/u niiiiice control phone from h/u screen (this trick works on most of these mp5 stereos.)
autoandroid app is good too
(obtaining female iso connectors is for someone with more patience or less excitement lol.)

You will find that fat pink wire (the VAN+ supply) will go dead a few minutes after the car is locked & completley cut all power to the unit.
You could try just not connecting the steering ground wire to anything & see what happens.
If that doesn't work you could just try grounding it, cant turn out any worse than connecting it to a live supply :-D
