On my 2009 C5 estate the passenger side window has started to act up.
When it reaches the top, it pauses for a second before lowering back down to halfway.
I've tried cleaning the runners with silicone spray and a credit card, but they seemed clean.
Issues happens with both drivers and passenger side switch.
I've had a read of the forum, but didn't find anything that helps yet.
Any ideas?

It could be that the anti pinch has not been initialised after a battery disconnection.
With engine on, wind window fully down then raise the window with your finger kept on the control. When the window reaches the top, continue to hold the switch up for a few seconds. A slight click can be heard.
Repeat on the other windows.
When an object gets detected on raising the window it automatically lowers to prevent injury. The system has to be reinitialised if the battery is disconnected.

Tried that a few times and couldn't get it to work.
Then I tried holding the down button once it had reached its lower limit, and heard a pop sound.
Something must have broken in the mechanism, as it would only inch back up and now work go down (and it's making noise to try and move).
Oops! Is replacing the mechanism yourself a straightforward job? I've done it on older cars, but not sure what this is like behind the door card.

Normally if it 'staggers' or stops periodically as you are holding the raise button, you would just release the button and then carry on raising the window in stages until it reaches the top and then hold it for a few seconds until here the very slight click.
Don't hold the button down when the windows has fully lowered. The anti pinch only reinitialises on the upward movement and when it has complely reached the top.
If it is really struggling, then I suspect the regulator wire is rusted and this is in turn causing extra strain and one has now snapped completely.
My driver's side window just out of the blue 'popped' at the NCP car park barrier exit as I was about to pay - slightly embarrassing. But I had an extended warranty, so took it to the dealer to do. They don't repair or replace the wiring - they replaced the complete unit including the motor - a £500+ job I was pleased to leave to them.
After this, I regularly spray silicone grease spray into the channels (to put less strain on the motor / wire) twice a year and again, when the window is up, I point the spray straw under the weather strip of the window and spray liberally along the length to try and coat the wire as best I can to provide some extra protection.
There's nothing too different about replacing it - the usual drilling out of the rivets and replacing with screws after. But do be very careful where you get your replacement from, and I would avoid ECP if possible. I've had several window regulators in the past from them for different vehicles and they were all damaged and faulty on arrival.

For emergency repairs, it should be possible to raise the glass by hand and Gaffer tape it in the raised position. You may need to raise it a bit, then use the button to 'take up the slack' then raise by hand and so on.
