The Morris Million, another example of Austin-Rover using purple to celebrate. Nowadays it has become more of a funeral colour sadly!! :(
I quite liked the colour. Not the moggy though.

Read a bit more here which is an interesting and detailed piece on them down to Kevin Philpot an 18 year old apprentice and his boot badge adapting skills. It is an excellent read and some excellent pictures.

That was a good read Neil, thanks. I knew about the cars because I remember going up the road one morning, yes with my mate Bob, to look at the new purple car in Eustace Watkins showroom just round the corner from our houses. When we got there we were amazed to see the 1000000 badge on the back. It turned out that they were ferrying that car around their dealerships as a general marketing ploy. The car stayed there for about 3 weeks I think and we did go and see it on a couple more occasions while walking round to the Library! Memory of the interior is clear as a bell, it was radically different from the red leather in my first Minor which I got about 6 years later, long before I could drive!! :-D

The author of that article descibed the 350 cars produced as being the first example of the "marketing" special edition.

One of the 4000 threads which the Off topic Chat Lounge has found to talk about is The Special Edition. Plenty good stuff to revisit and add to there :-D

Hands up those who didn't spot the mistake in my original Morris 1,000,000 posting?

I have corrected it now but compare the picture now to the original one in Steve's quote to see what I mean #-o :-D

It was portrayed as Left Hand Drive, fair enough 30 LHD ones produced, but the Numberplate was reversed/mirror image as well!

Yes I have had a play around with it trying to "melt" the snow and complete the rest of the car but it didn't really help because I could only see it for what it was!! :-D

An easy question to answer if you Google it (or DDG it !), and you should be ashamed of yourself if you know the answer already :-D

What links John Deacon (he of Queen fame) and a Morris Minor ?
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(
